It was an honour to host Mr Gautam Chikermane, Vice President - ORF, during SRES'24.
Sir's insights and ideas on the topic left the audience with a lot to think about India's future.
The session: A fireside chat titled ‘Blueprints of a Silent Revolution: How a Collective of Entrepreneurs Arrested The Economic Downfall of India’
The audience: The brilliant young minds of @SRCCOfficial , Delhi at the Shri Ram Economic Summit (SRES) 2024
The result: Absolute thrill and inspiration on witnessing their enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, technology, and nation-building. And if I may daresay, a feeling of being young again!
The story of the IT entrepreneurs who brought about a revolution and economic resurgence in India and of my own entrepreneurial journey led to a great discussion. The eagerness of the young audience to embrace leadership roles and become job creators, not just job seekers was clear and that makes me happy. That mindset is crucial. After all, we need ‘only’ a million tech entrepreneurs in India and every thought in that direction counts 😊
Even more heartening to see them embrace this age of rapid change. Underlined by their excitement, and not fear, of AI. In the 90s and 2000s, it was about being tech-savvy; in the 2010s, it was about being digital-savvy; now, it's about being AI-savvy. But underlying all these skills is being change savvy.
The IT revolution in India didn't happen by chance. It was the result of bold vision, collective effort, and a willingness to embrace change. The students of India, the future of our nation, have the potential to drive similar transformations in various fields. We must egg them on to be proactive, risk-taking and blossom into creators, builders and leaders. Onwards and upwards, as I always like to say!
