A reflecting pool is supposed to show you the truth. This one actually does.
Trump promised a fresh coat, bright and bold, American flag blue, covering everything that came before. The reality is paint clumped, peeled, and curdled into a swampy green sludge, floating in ugly little islands across the water.
A no-bid contract handed to a guy whose price ballooned past $14 million and counting.
Cheap materials and no plan for what happens when it dries.
And when it inevitably falls apart, they blame the water, the weather, the paint, political opponents, and anyone but the people holding the brush.
Meanwhile the Interior Department’s social media reads like a North Korean state broadcast, breathlessly hailing the dear leader while crews stand vacuuming algae off the bottom.
Honestly, you could not write a better metaphor for this presidency if you tried.
It still breaks my heart that Joe Biden gets absolutely no credit for how magnificent of a President he was with the shitstorm he was deliberately given only to be relentlessly attacked, mocked and criticized and then discarded like nothing. We didn’t deserve him.
@ThrillaRilla369 Yes and I have no issue offering to keep an eye on an older kid that can use the restroom herself so dad can feel comfortable that she is being looked after and he isn't getting sideways looks
Honestly, I do not know why people do all these things. There is a quote from Charles Bukowski I love: "If you love something, allow yourself to be destroyed by it." Not destroyed in the dramatic sense. Destroyed in the sense that you let go of your walls, your armour, your fear of getting hurt. You give yourself fully. And if it breaks you, at least you loved completely.
The ones who hold back never truly love. They only manage risk. And that is not love. That is a transaction. Love is not safe. Love is not calculated. Love is risking everything for the chance at something real. So stop playing games. Love fully. Lose fully. At least you will know you lived.
They told women to stay home with their children.
Said motherhood was sacred. Said family comes first.
Then made it economically impossible to do exactly that.
Every stay at home mom is now scrambling for a side hustle just to cover groceries.
You cannot celebrate motherhood and simultaneously build an economy that makes motherhood financially unsurvivable.
Pick one.
Because right now they chose the economy.
And mothers are paying the price.
We. Told. You. It. Wouldn't. Work.
HAHAHAH. It only affected the edges - and now there is a nice wide neon strip of algae in the center of the Reflecting Pool. Fucking idiots. Complete morons. 🤣😂😭
The reason a lot of our parents and grandparents stayed married for so long is because the women in those generations were financially trapped. When a woman makes her own money, the only thing a man can truly offer her is how he treats her.
That's why there's a male loneliness epidemic.
@jamesstrather@TheEcho13 How the hell did you talk someone into marrying you if you don't know how to make her feel beautiful and wanted? That's basic behavior.
@SmackoverHawg@OrevaZSN Why do you feel the need to call people names? If you're point was valid it would speak for itself. Makes you sound like a loser.
A trillionair, yet his name does not appear on a single school, university, library, museum wing, hospital, stadium, arena, airport, or endowed chairs. What a colossal waste of a human lifetime.
