Now me personally, I liked the motives for Venom as it serves to make him the "Anti Spider-Man" of this game. But I understand why others wanted-

It would be beneficial for Venom to join forces with him if they want the same instead of making points against him. But also fighting him (primarily this)

My point for that was Venom oddly not going "Hey, help me invade my world cause I'm evil, and I'll come help you after"

Instead, the suit was content with fighting

That is 100% Harry as without him, the suit wouldn't have that to latch on to. Which means the host still had some influnece on the suit's behavior

But for the characters who don't know nor trust it. It's just a slime who wanted to take over our way of living.
