Moral of the story is treasuries were never a good thing and complicated unecessary products likely aren’t for your benefit.
Glad to see the clean up this chapter of crypto.
The herd is corralled into the September/October BTC bottom theory of 1-year post peak. Everyone loves timing predictions. Q4 2025 was the same. Here's what you are betting against.
1. On-chain already hit FTX crash & post bear market levels. Saylor forced to sell.
We have been made aware of a security incident involving one of our exchange partners, in which ZIL was stolen from a cold wallet.
The incident is under active investigation, and we are working with the relevant parties to establish the root cause and full scope. As a precaution, all exchanges have been notified and asked to temporarily pause ZIL deposits and withdrawals to prevent the stolen funds from being moved or sold through centralised platforms.
We understand the community will have questions. We will share further updates as soon as we have verified information. Please rely only on official Zilliqa channels for updates.
THE RETURN OF XRP
With XRP overtaking SOL, above $2, and approaching a $120B market cap, allow me to reflect.
When I sued the SEC, people assumed I was a huge XRP holder. The truth is, when the @Ripple case was filed, 50% of my net worth was in BTC. Today, it’s 80%. I also had 4X more in ETH than XRP. In sum, XRP was a very small investment.
I sued the SEC b/c what it did was wrong. I’m not talking about Ripple. The SEC sues lots of companies. I’m talking about the absurd allegation that XRP itself was illegal, including if acquired by USERS of the XRPL or by people who’d never heard of @bgarlinghouse, @chrislarsensf or Ripple.
There were people being paid in XRP. Companies like @Spend_The_Bits and @TapJets used XRP in business applications. There were XRP debit cards. Thousands of people
opened a trust line with the XRPL just to send 💰 to others in seconds and for a fraction of a penny.
FACTS:
In 2014, the @USGAO declared XRP a “virtual currency utilized in a decentralized payment protocol called Ripple.”
In 2015, FinCEN declared XRP a virtual currency and told Ripple it must comply with Banking laws. The SEC was provided the details of the settlement and never said a word.
On June 13, 2018, SEC enforcement lawyers ✍️ a report on whether XRP was a security under Howey. SEC lawyers DID NOT recommend enforcement.
@bgarlinghouse met with Hinman and Clayton multiple times and Garlinghosue complained that XRP and Ripple were living in purgatory b/c BTC and ETH were given clarity in Hinman’s speech but not XRP. Not once did they inform Ripple it was because XRP was a security.
In the 2019 FSOC Annual Report, signed by Clayton, XRP, along with BTC, ETH and LTC, were described as virtual currencies gaining in market share.
In January 2019, Coinbase met with the SEC, specifically regarding XRP, and notified the SEC that Coinbase had run XRP through its digital assets framework, and some of the best, most experienced securities lawyers in the world had determined XRP NOT a security. But Coinbase would defer to the SEC b/c Coinbase wanted to soon go public and wanted to make sure the SEC was in agreement over XRP. The SEC allowed Coinbase to list XRP in February 2019 and Coinbase began marketing the utility of XRP much more aggressively than Ripple had ever done. In 2019, if you opened up the Coinbase app, you saw the below page.👇
In June 2019, @MoneyGram filed paperwork with the SEC disclosing MoneyGram would be using XRP in its cross border payments business. The SEC knew MoneyGram was selling XRP on Coinbase to the general public. Yet, did nothing.
Also, the U.K., Japan, Singapore, Switzerland and the UAE had declared XRP a non-security token.
Yet, despite the above, the SEC, on December 22, 2020, claimed ALL XRP were illegal.
I sued the SEC b/c gross government overreach is gross government overreach even if it’s 🆚 a company you don’t like. Many turned a blind eye b/c they didn’t like Ripple. To me, it’s like free speech. You have to protect the speech you don’t like. If you don’t, eventually the government may unjustly come after speech or a company you do support.
Plus, even if you’re not a fan of Ripple, when you learn the facts surrounding the filing of the Ripple case, it is impossible to credibly say that everything was on the up and up. In fact, it was down right shameful. Disagree? Read the Joe Grundfest letter that I had to threaten the SEC with a second FOIA lawsuit to acquire. 👇

Although I didn’t own much XRP at the time, when 75K XRP holders joined me and XRP plummeted, I bought more and more. I did so because it felt like it’s what I needed to do to truly be invested in the fight agaisnt the SEC. I may have done all the legal work for free but sometimes you get paid in other ways.
Whether you hate XRP or believe it’s a shit coin (and I have friends who do), I’m thrilled for the XRP holders who’ve held this entire time. They’ve went from purgatory to hell and back.🫡
Victory has a thousand fathers, but make no mistake. The courage of Brad and Chris, and the resilience and expertise of Ripple Team Legal (most of whom are nameless and never sought the Twitter spotlight) paved the way. Ripple provided the blueprint to defeat Gary Gensler’s inexplicable war on crypto. We kept the door open long enough for the industry to survive and seize this incredible moment. The faith and support of the XRP Army provided much-needed hope in the darkest days. Thank you.
It's no secret the ProveAI switch from $CSPR to $HBAR was done with 0 transparency.
As transparent as the AI Black Box Mrinal's solving.
But this presents opportunity for Casper Network.
As I've said, we now have a blank canvas.
It's up to us, the community on where we want to take the ecosystem next.
Sure, CasperLabs played a big role in our ability to land Enterprise DLT focused collaborations, but as we now see none of them really gained traction.
But this now gives Casper the potential to reshape to a L1 that the community sees fit.
Do I wish that CasperLabs would've succeeded & for Casper to be a great Enterprise DLT chain?
Of course, but wishing isn't gonna do anything now.
I loved the Casper ecosystem for it's upgradable, hybrid permission & cloning capabilities.
CasperLabs may have left but these features remain.
But with that, there were also a few things I didn't really like about the ecosystem & I'm sure you're probably gonna agree on some of these points.
1⃣Endless 8% Inflation
Unlike most tokens, CSPR was never capped.
The total supply increases by 8% per year, definitely not as bad as fiat inflation as it's consistent, but still certainly not optimal.
Well, we now have the potential power to propose changes toward these things.
2⃣Siloed Operations
This one isn't exactly one to vote on, but rather it'll begin coming into affect after the craze begins to blow over.
Up until this point it seemed like Labs was in charge of the "direction" of Casper for the most part.
In other words a central authority.
With CasperLabs/ProveAI now gone the decisions are now up to the Association & community.
We've actually seen this type of move from many other L1 ecosystems where control is eventually removed from a "core team" and handed to a community via things such as DAOs.
This is of course to further play into the aspect of a truly decentralized ecosystem.
Sure, this probably wasn't the best way to do it, but nonetheless it accelerated that progress.
It won't be an easy move and will take responsibility from the community as a whole.
But it's arguably a step in the right direction for a fully community governed ecosystem.
And on a side note,
Lets hope Prove AI manages to brings some enterprise AI traction and utility to Hedera.
Yes what they did was absolutely unprofessional and certainly shouldn't be happening in this space.
And in fact it seems there's now ties to the prior hack with this recent move.
But hopefully we can rely on regulators to do their jobs.
Lets focus on fixing what they left🤝
–––––––––
Obviously the situation still isn't pretty,
But sitting here isn't going to change anything, instead the Casper community can take action as a collective and rebuild the network the RIGHT way.
It goes without saying that I got into Casper for it's Enterprise DLT focus, but just because CasperLabs.
But just because CasperLabs has left with the enterprise focus, it doesn't mean I've given up on Casper's long term future.
After all, lets not forget Casper is a ghost....
And a ghost is never born til it's original form dies👻
