Today is international womans day 💐 Do we as a community work activly to ensure more equality, engage more women and develop for equal adaptation?
How many can honestly say: «everyday I do something to make life better for the next generation» ?
Happy womans day 🌹
Some people think we shouldn’t talk about governance.
They think we should be addressing the falling ADA price.
I partly agree. We should be addressing how to improve DeFi, scalability, and attract new users.
Governance and ADA price are interconnected topics.
On-chain governance has been launched. DReps decide on Treasury spending. Governance has a direct impact on the ecosystem and the success of Cardano.
The quality of the decision-making process affects the price of ADA in the long-term.
It’s simple.
We can throw away hundreds of millions of ADA every year on projects that will get us nowhere. This will create high selling pressure in the short term without creating value. ADA will be low forever. Everyone loses.
Or we can invest smartly in projects that will ensure our success. This will also create selling pressure, but in the long term, Cardano will remain in the top 10. Everyone wins.
Therefore, we must first address governance issues.
With a quality decision-making process, we can even invest less and achieve higher value for the ecosystem. This is about governance.
1/ Midnight is a force multiplier, and our community spans builders, users, and ecosystems across Web3.
So we asked a simple question:
What do you actually think about privacy? 🤔
Here’s what you told us 🧵👇
Cardano’s governance model is gaining recognition, sparking discussion about possible real-world implementation in Southeast Asia.
We’re proud to support research at @unimalaya, now published in @theedgemalaysia, showing how Cardano’s decentralized governance enables transparent, accountable participation. 👏🏻

USDCx is now live on Cardano 💥
Lots of great technically detailed explanations out there, too but it occurred to me that people who fully understand tech explanations probably don’t need them 🤔
So here’s a plain English explainer if you’re starting from 😵💫Wut
First: what is this USDC?
USDC is a digital dollar issued by Circle.
1 USDC ≈ 1 US dollar.
Widely used across exchanges, DeFi, multiple blockchains & one of the biggest stablecoin ecosystems in crypto
OK, so what’s USDCx?
USDCx is USDC that works natively on Cardano.
That’s it really - but helpful to understand the context and the “why” -
It’s not “another token.” more a direct connection into the existing USDC world.
This is important for Cardano because it connects ADA holders to a $70B+ stablecoin ecosystem, without friction or needing complex workarounds.
Without feeling “separate” from the wider market.
Practically, this means:
• You can move value from a Cardano wallet to any USDC-supporting wallet
• You can move funds to CEXs and back
• It’s instantly convertible to regular USDC
Stablecoins matter because:
• People understand dollars
• Businesses price in dollars
• DeFi often runs on dollar liquidity
USDCx makes that accessible natively inside Cardano.
If you’re completely new to the ecosystem:
You can imagine USDCx as Cardano getting a direct flight connection to the digital dollar network hub with no awkward transfers, layovers or ecosystem hoops to jump.
Just flow.
For builders, this will mean:
• Easier onboarding
• More liquidity
• More integrations
• Stronger interoperability
For ADA holders it gives you stability options, expands what’s possible, and lowers friction between Cardano and the rest of crypto.
Solid, intentional progress 🫶👏
@yutazzz «Hey, you wanna do tons of heavy, tecnical work, get scolded by the community for not agreeing, with no pay?» Shure, why not 🤦♀️😅
Governance has been created by, and for tech/finance people. Just saying 😇

Dear fellow DReps. WHAT THE ACTUAL F !
It’s crazy to me how only 178 of 863 registered active DReps consider it necessary to participate in voting.
You SIGNED UP up for this job voluntarily! 😡😡
…Unlike SPOs who signed up to produce blocks and got voting put upon them. Yet, they are more active than you are - and many of them didn’t even know they had to vote a week ago!
Unfathomable to me.
I agree with Bee on this. Do-the-job! Reducing te min-size is like pissing in your pants to keep warm.
Map out and adress the actual issues in stead of building a governance that consentrates power. That is called building a democracy 🫡
Why are we not addressing the elephant in the room instead of changing parameters to fix a problem that shouldt exist?
Changing the min size is not going to make the CC more active, and I’d argue it’s making it worse
Elect active people or suffer the consequences
CC: @yutazzz
@kenerik My view: this parameter is fine as it is. The community have the freedom to even vote in 3 more members. We should not stribe to have the bare minimum, but to use the flexibility that is allready there 🙇♀️
My personal take on this: With the current concentration of DRep / SPO voting power, along with low ADA owner participation in governance, reducing CommitteeMinSize to 5 will concentrate critical decision making even more. It’s also in conflict with traditional democratic values in regards to the separation of powers.
CommitteeMinSize is a ledger feature, not a bug. It represents part of the separation of powers between DReps/SPOs and ADA owners. In the worst case, only 3 members would be needed to collude if only 5 members are active. This is due to how the ledger calculates votingCommitteeThreshold.
The whole point of CommitteeMinSize is to prevent and halt a "worst case scenario" automatically. I’m aware that you intend to maintain 7 CC members, but that is not a good failsafe by any means.
@kenerik@IOHK_Charles Not business friendly? 🤔
Norway is human friendly. 100% of business is humans. If you don’t understand humans, you don’t understand business 🫶
POC: Norways economy 😘
@shaggyrax@kenerik Good point. Even though the options won’t be perfect for everyone, they are asking the right questions 👏 and I hope as many as posible take 5 min to answer. We need to start somewhere 😄
Good morning Cardano,
The Beyond Minimum Viable Governance project is collecting input from governance participants in the form of surveys. We’ve expanded survey access to reach more of the Cardano community:
∙English
∙Japanese
∙Spanish
The survey takes less than 5 minutes and asks about your governance experience decision-making processes, information gaps, challenges you face, and what would make participation more effective.
All data will be anonymized and published transparently.
If you prefer sharing your experience through discussion rather than a written survey, join our workshop on February 18th.
Register and find all project resources: https://t.co/y5ehi69KSB
Whether you participate daily or you’ve encountered barriers that made you stop, your perspective matters.
Survey closes February 13th. Workshop registration is open now.
Please tag your SPO or DRep to fill out the survey. Also fill it out if you’re an Ada holder.
