@DGlaucomflecken@aubreyhirsch Person that identifies as man here, I can confirm I enjoy throwing large rocks into bodies of water from great heights. This guy speaks for me.
If we wanted to learn to live with COVID, we could have:
-improved ventilation
-provided free N95s
-expanded PCR testing
-increased vaccine uptake
-upgraded vaccine passports/mandates
-legislated 10 paid sick days for workers
This is surrendering to COVID, not living with it.
@vexedalex I was literally thinking the same thing. She really thought to herself - "Let me try to bait this politician into saying that we're going to war".
@theJagmeetSingh when you visited Waterloo in Aug, we both agreed political polarization & misinformation on social media was a national security threat. I hope the events in the past month have reiterated the need for prevention/intervention for this in the future.
The pandemic is affecting a lot more than those infected by the virus. Every infection occupying a hospital/ICU bed takes away the chance from people like Eric to get the healthcare they need.
Ericโs situation is an example of an overburdened healthcare system.
