Glorious pianist Krystian Zimerman was born on 5 December 1956. I find myself marvelling at the conspicuous combination of extraordinary technical polish and beautiful sensitivity every time I hear him play. What are your favourite Zimerman recordings?
Born March 1, 1810, Polish composer and piano virtuoso Frédéric Chopin, whose music has enriched so many lives. My favorite of his living proponents: Martha Argerich, fellow Pole Krystian Zimerman and Stephen Hough. @houghhough#Chopin
🎉 Congrats to Krystian Zimerman on winning the Praemium Imperiale 2022!

“You can play these concertos all your life and still be hungry for them.” – Krystian Zimerman on Beethoven’s piano concertos. Happy 67th birthday to the legendary Polish pianist. His recent Beethoven with Rattle and the @londonsymphony offer a great introduction to his artistry.
One of the most beautiful classical melodies ever.

Maria Nowak, Katarzyna Budnik, Yuya Okamoto & Krystian Zimerman - Brahms: Piano Quartets Nos. 2 & 3
Polish-Swiss pianist Krystian Zimerman releases another advance track from his forthcoming album, focusing on Brahms' occasionally overlooked Piano Quartets Nos. 2 and 3 to give them the attention they deserve. For this recording, Zimerman, whose passion for chamber music dates back to his childhood and has accompanied him ever since, is joined by cellist Yuya Okamoto, violinist Maria Nowak and violist Katarzyna Budnik.
‘I don't think there is another composer who has such value in terms of quality,’ says the pianist. ‘All of Brahms' chamber music is fantastic - the sonatas, the trios, the clarinet quintet. There isn't a bad piece among them.’ He adds: ‘I particularly love the third quartet. It's crazy. It's so powerful. It has an incredible drive.’
