@CEJRyanMcMahon@OnondagaCounty With so many school quarantines right now, has any thought been given to allowing a “test to stay” approach to minimize the interruptions to learning?
@UnfilteredTru @YaelZeira @CEJRyanMcMahon@OnondagaCounty Agreed. My neighbor’s kid across the street is also supposed to be quarantined due to school exposure. They aren’t even pretending to try to comply with the quarantine—just keeping the kid out of school. It does nothing to prevent spread if she’s still playing with other kids.
@crzycougar1@CEJRyanMcMahon@OnondagaCounty Our ped recommended the ER trip if Wellnow couldn’t take her, because they are so overrun with kids needing tests. If we want kids in school, we need capacity to test them when the get sick (as kids in school often do).
@crzycougar1@CEJRyanMcMahon@OnondagaCounty Upstate at Water St is booked for days. Wound up at the ER Monday night with a sick kid with high fever and extreme fatigue because her pediatrician, Wellnow and Upstate all had at LEAST a 2-3 day wait. It was most definitely not an emergency, but she did need prompt care.
@CEJRyanMcMahon Are there plans to increase testing capacity? Many test sites (including Upstate) have 2 day wait times to get in for a test right now.
@missklymkow You did an amazing job last year of balancing academics with play! Ellie for sure had a magical year...she wishes she could have you for a teacher again this year!
