⸻
Hello, this is GOLDMEDALIST.
We would like to inform you of the following regarding the spread of false information about our artist, Kim Soohyun, and acts that damage his reputation and personal dignity.
■ The investigation into allegations of violating the Child Welfare Act against Kim Soohyun ended with a decision of “No Charges”
Regarding the false claim that Kim Soohyun was in a relationship with the deceased when she was a minor, and the resulting allegations of violating the Child Welfare Act, the investigative authorities examined the relevant materials and facts. They determined that the allegations could not be substantiated and decided not to refer the case for prosecution, concluding that there were no charges.
Accordingly, it has been confirmed that the series of allegations made against Kim Soohyun have no factual or objective basis.
This matter is no longer at the stage of a dispute in which the facts remain unverified. The false information has been established through the official investigation results.
■ Kim Seui of Garo Sero Research Institute, the original source of the false claims, has been indicted and detained
Kim Seui, the operator of Garo Sero Research Institute, who first made and continued to spread false claims about Kim Soohyun, was issued a court warrant for detention on suspicion of crimes including defamation through the dissemination of false information under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc. He has since been indicted and is currently being held in custody while awaiting trial.
In these circumstances, please understand clearly that continuing to quote Kim Seui’s claims or repost, share, or redistribute them as though they were facts constitutes an additional unlawful act. Such conduct supports the criminal actions of Kim Seui, who has been indicted and detained, and continues or increases the harm caused by his alleged crimes.
■ Respreading false information after the facts have been established may result in harsher punishment
Even after the investigation results and the original source’s indictment and detention have been officially confirmed, creating false content or sharing, reposting, or redistributing related posts, videos, comments, and other materials constitutes an unlawful act of deliberately spreading and reproducing false information.
In particular, posting, sharing, reposting, or redistributing broadcast footage, thumbnails, photographs, screenshots, and other audiovisual materials used or released in Garo Sero Research Institute broadcasts, or reproducing and spreading them further by extracting, altering, or editing portions of them, may be regarded as maliciously inflicting further harm on the victim of a crime and deliberately increasing that harm.
Even if you post only the image without adding any text, include the source, or simply repost someone else’s content, you cannot avoid responsibility.
Depending on the intent, maliciousness, repetition, and reach of such conduct, it may be considered an aggravating factor in criminal sentencing and lead to more severe punishment. It may also be considered an unfavorable factor when determining the amount of civil damages.
We will make it clear to the investigative authorities and the courts that such conduct took place deliberately after the investigation results and Kim Seui’s indictment and detention had been confirmed, and that it was a malicious act intended to inflict further harm on the victim of a crime. We will take all necessary legal measures to ensure that those responsible face more severe punishment and accountability.](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/HUjPyqAaEAAtmpB.jpg)

ATTENTION ALL KIM SOO HYUN FANS AND INTERNATIONAL VOTERS!
ENOUGH COMPLAINING IN SILENCE. IT IS TIME TO DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY!
If you believe your votes have disappeared, been incorrectly counted or been affected by suspicious irregularities, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO QUESTION THE SYSTEM!
Some fans have spent countless hours voting, while others have lost confidence in these competitions entirely.
DO NOT LET YOUR EVIDENCE GO TO WASTE!
We encourage every fan who has really experienced suspected voting irregularities to submit a formal complaint to the following organisations.
IDOL CHAMP / MBC PLUS
📧 [email protected]
📧 [email protected]
Demand an investigation into suspected app voting irregularities, missing votes and unexplained interruptions.
STARNEWS / AAA ORGANISERS
📧 [email protected]
Demand a fair and transparent voting competition, an independent audit and accountability for every legitimate vote.
SOUTH KOREAN CONSUMER PROTECTION.
Korea Consumer Agency
📧 [email protected]
📧 [email protected]
International fans who believe they have suffered financial loss or unfair treatment may contact the agency for guidance on submitting a consumer complaint.
WHAT SHOULD YOU SEND?
• Screenshots of suspicious voting activity
• Payment receipts, where applicable
• Dates and exact times of voting interruptions
• Records of missing or incorrectly counted votes
• Any correspondence with voting vendors or the platform
@starnewskorea @idolchamp, FANS ARE NOT CASH MACHINES!
We will not accept a system in which fans are encouraged to spend their time and money while legitimate questions remain unanswered.
WE DEMAND FAIR VOTING!
WE DEMAND AN INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION!
WE DEMAND TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY!
To our fellow Kim Soo Hyun fans worldwide, let us stand together and demand answers through the proper channels.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
#KimSooHyun #김수현 #JusticeForKimSooHyun #AAAPopularityAward #IdolChamp #StarNews #FairVotesFairResults #VotingTransparency #FansDemandAnswers
@starnewskorea @idolchamp1 . “AS EXPECTED”? WHAT EXACTLY DID YOU EXPECT, AND HOW DID YOU KNOW?
WHAT AN EXTRAORDINARY CHOICE OF WORDS FROM AN ORGANISATION RESPONSIBLE FOR THE AAA AWARDS!
On 7 October 2026, StarNews proudly published an article celebrating the preliminary winner with the words “As expected”.
AS EXPECTED?!
We beg your pardon? @starnewskorea. Was this a genuine voting competition, or a result everyone was just simply expected to accept?
HOW DARE YOU EXPECT FANS TO TRUST A SYSTEM WHILE SERIOUS QUESTIONS ABOUT ITS TRANSPARENCY REMAIN UNANSWERED?
Let us refresh your memory.
In 2025, Kim Soo Hyun repeatedly secured first place in your Star Ranking competition. Yet his billboard reward became the subject of controversy when another actor reportedly received the recognition.
Our complaints went unanswered.
AND NOW HERE WE ARE AGAIN!
Some Kim Soo Hyun fans are STILL voting tirelessly, sacrificing their time, sleep and energy.
Others have also boycotted these competitions altogether because their confidence in the system has been shattered.
Reports of interrupted voting, or even questionable third-party vendors and unexplained discrepancies have raised serious concerns.
WHAT ARE FANS ACTUALLY PAYING FOR? A FAIR COMPETITION OR AN EXPENSIVE EXERCISE IN BLIND TRUST?
@starnewskorea @idolchamp1 , we want answers!
Where are the independently verified voting records?
Who oversees the counting process?
What safeguards prevent interference?
And why should international fans continue trusting a competition when their concerns remain unresolved?
DO NOT MISTAKE OUR SILENCE FOR IGNORANCE OR OUR LOYALTY TO KIM SOO HYUN FOR AN UNLIMITED WILLINGNESS TO BE EXPLOITED!
We are not attacking another actor or his supporters. Our questions concern the organisers and the voting platform.
IF YOUR COMPETITION IS FAIR, OPEN THE RECORDS TO AN INDEPENDENT AUDIT.
Until then, your words “As expected” will continue to raise questions that deserve answers.
WE DEMAND TRANSPARENCY. WE DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY. AND WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED!
@yonhaptweet @KBSNews @KBSWorldTV @TheKoreaHerald @koreajoongang @Dicon_korea @KoreanUpdates
@BBCNews @BBCWorld @SkyNews @guardian @Telegraph @Independent @Channel4News @itvnews
We invite the international press to really investigate concerns about voting and the accountability of award organisers.
AND TO @starnewskorea AND @idolchamp1 , MAKE NO MISTAKE: WE WILL BE KEEPING OUR EYES ON YOU. 👀
EVERY VOTE. EVERY RESULT. EVERY DECISION.

[EXCLUSIVE] Dispatch verified the evidence of the fabrication: “The 2016 KakaoTalk Messages Were With Celebrity A” — #KIMSOOHYUN WAS A VICTIM OF FABRICATION
He was mocked as “Guk-Ka-Soo.”
*mocking nickname formed by shortening “National KakaoTalk Research Institute” (국립카톡연구소, Gungnip Katok Yeonguso).
“I am not the person in the 2016 conversation.”
Kim Soohyun broke down in tears. He pleaded tearfully, saying, “We started dating after Kim Saeron became an adult in 2019. We did not date when she was a minor.”
As evidence, he presented the results of a “same-person identification analysis.” It was a private forensic report analyzing the 2016 KakaoTalk messages released by Gaseyeon, the 2018 KakaoTalk messages exchanged with Kim Saeron, and the 2025 KakaoTalk messages.
Public opinion did not change. Instead, he was ridiculed as “Guk-Ka-Soo,” short for the “National KakaoTalk Research Institute.”
Kim Soohyun lost the strength to keep explaining himself and requested an investigation.
Then, a year later, the results came out.
It was clear fabrication. The person behind the 2016 KakaoTalk messages was Celebrity A. They were not conversations with Kim Soohyun. Dispatch verified the evidence of the fabrication.
⸻ FORENSICS
“When can I hold you and fall asleep?”
The recipient of this message was Kim Saeron. But who sent it? The police conducted forensic examinations of the electronic devices Kim Saeron had used. They recovered conversations, images, and other data stored on devices including an iPhone 7, iPhone 8, iPhone SE, and iPhone 13 mini.
The police found no evidence of a relationship with Kim Soohyun. Kim Saeron had only three phone calls with Kim Soohyun on her iPhone 7 during 2017–2018. No material proving a relationship was found on the iPhone 8 either.
Instead, Kim Saeron reportedly maintained close relationships with at least four men during that period. Kim Soohyun was not among them. According to reports, Kim Soohyun was barely mentioned in conversations she had with family members and acquaintances.
Then, who was the person behind the message, “When can I hold you and sleep with you?” Gaseyeon and the bereaved family pushed the claim that Kim Soohyun was the person in those conversations. They tried to socially destroy him by framing him as someone who had dated a minor and sexually exploited her.
⸻ CLOUD
Kim Saeron had nearly 200 screenshots of KakaoTalk conversations stored on N Cloud. Most included the sender’s name in the screenshots. However, in around a dozen screenshots, the other person was saved as “Unknown.” The 2016 KakaoTalk conversation in question, which included the phrase “I want to hold you,” was one of them.
The police examined all of Kim Saeron’s KakaoTalk screenshots. They compared the messages saved under “Unknown” with the other conversations that showed the senders’ real names. At the same time, they analyzed the writing styles in the “Unknown” conversations and Kim Soohyun’s KakaoTalk messages.
As a result, Celebrity A was identified as the sender of the 2016 messages. The police reportedly found A’s real name in the original KakaoTalk conversation. Kim Saeron had addressed A by name at least twice in the disputed conversation.
The police also continued analyzing the writing style. Celebrity A follows spelling rules, correctly using endings such as “겠” and “었.” A also follows spacing rules. Kim Soohyun, on the other hand, often writes them incorrectly as “겟” and “엇.” The initial consonants he uses for common onomatopoeic expressions are also different.
In other conversations with the deceased, A mentioned colleagues who worked with A. This also became evidence that Kim Soohyun was not the person behind the 2016 KakaoTalk messages. All of those people had no connection to Kim Soohyun.
