A Namjoon thread everyone should read.
🐨: “When I recommend songs, people often say, ‘I don’t listen to Western music. I can’t understand the lyrics.’ But I listen to plenty of songs without knowing the lyrics either. I fall in love with them first, then I look up the meaning and pay closer attention. It’s about feeling the emotions. Does the language really matter?”
🐨: “And once you start loving those songs, you end up learning so much English too. I think about a third of my English comes from music. I’d constantly look up expressions and read the lyrics.”
🐨: “I believe music is a language in itself.”
This message has always been at the core of BTS. It’s been there since the very beginning, and with their decision not to submit to the Grammys, they proved they have never betrayed their beliefs about music.
People who say BTS “sold out to the West,” “only make commercial music,” or “refused the Grammys just for press attention” simply have no idea who BTS are. They never understood them in the first place.
Yes, BTS wanted recognition. Yes, they wanted that damn trophy. But not at that cost. It takes incredible courage to walk away from your dream. They did it for themselves and for the values they’ve believed in since debut.
Real strength belongs to those who stay true to their principles, even if it means giving up something they’ve wanted for years.
BTS say, “they don’t know ’bout us.”
I’m telling you: get to know them.
ART HAS NO ALIENS
#ArtHasNoAliens
During the first 48 hours, the news focused on BTS’ statement. It was a shock to the industry and no one expected it.
Then the RA responded quickly extending coverage another day, primarily due to the AP running a second story, which got picked up by hundreds of syndicated outlets. The committee members crashouts got picked up by social media, K media, and blogs further damaging the RA’s reputation.
The coverage has now shifted to analysis and opinion pieces. Expect more of that over the weekend. Continue posting thoughtful comments on the media’s social posts. They’ll be reading them for research.
The next wave of coverage could come from:
-BTS says anything else
-another prominent Asian artist follows suit (not counting on this)
-the RA indicates any changes
-Submission deadline (news will bring up statement again)
-when nominations are announced
Those are just a few possibilities.
👉What ARMY can do: Show that BTS doesn’t need the RA for validation. Continue streaming and buying. Keep talking about why they and Arirang deserve to be recognized and critically acclaimed. Post thoughtful analysis under positive media coverage.
The media is watching a lot of our posts rn so let’s be respectful but also, if you want to point out something suspicious or potentially corrupt, explain why. Share the history if you have the details. Link to past articles and other official sources. They won’t know the history or details.
🐹 Thank you all for being here. I had an amazing time. Honestly, I don't want to leave but it's time for us to go. Worldwide Handsome has to sleep by midnight and Worldwide Cutie ARMY should also sleep before midnight, okay? Please get home safely. Have a good night!
Bringing back pouty puffy Jinseok whining about Ye eun wearing his slippers early in the moring 😂😂
He actually said he's been looking for them all day. But bro you just woke up 🤣🤣

I really hope on the night of the grammys that army gives literally ZERO attention to it. No trending hashtags, no posts, and certainly no fan wars over whichever Asian act wins a grammy.
Can we all just agree to do a streaming party and give the grammys the silent treatment??
