BTS are showing us every facet of their lives — both as public figures hiding behind carefully constructed personas and as the people beneath them.
Two sides of the same coin, neither of which is the complete truth. Because a person is always more complex than the image others create of them.
I absolutely love the newspaper concept throughout BTS’ single promotions. We see it in both 2.0 and Normal, and I don’t think that’s a coincidence.
It perfectly reflects the media’s relationship with BTS and the two sides of it: one that highlights their success and achievements, and another that’s fueled by gossip and scandals created out of absolutely nothing.
In the newspaper from the 2.0 MV, the articles talk about the launch of something that will “shake the world”, something new that will change everything. They discuss the mixed public reaction and analyze the reasons behind its success. This is the side of the media that acknowledges BTS’ impact and achievements.
In Normal, we see the complete opposite. A world consumed by rumors and gossip, where even the smallest action becomes the center of a massive controversy. What’s so scandalous about a photo taken near urinals? Nothing. Yet the article presents it as if a late-night gathering in a restroom is some shocking incident literally turning nothing into a scandal.
To sum it all up, I genuinely believe the entire ARIRANG era and its single promotions are a diss at the media and the haters.
Bye!! 👋

Bye!! 👋
know most ppl will probably scroll past this or won’t read it because it’s long, but i really want to talk about my LAMRON/NORMAL theory with someone. please give it a chance
I know I’m a bit late with my analysis, but I really wanted to share my thoughts on the ‘normal’ MV teaser. this is going to be a long thread, but I hope some of you will stay with me until the end and enjoy this little journey of interpretation. let’s get started!!
a theory about the concept behind the ‘normal’ MV🧵
WHAT THE FUUUUCK??? THEY PERFORMED LOUDER THAN BOMBS FOR THE FIRST TIME????
MUNICH, YOU’RE OFFICIALLY ON MY BLACKLIST BECAUSE THIS SONG… WHAT THE FUUUUUUCK 😭😭😭
And this is exactly why LAMRON appears — the inverted NORMAL.
If NORMAL is what the world sees,
then LAMRON is the way we look inside ourselves.
It is the moment when a person stops asking:
“Am I normal enough for this world?”
and starts asking:
“Who am I when I remove all the roles I have played for other people?”
Perhaps the main question of ‘Normal’ is not how to become “normal”.
Perhaps it is about finally understanding where the role I play ends and where the real me begins.
NORMAL and LAMRON cannot exist without each other.
Just like two sides of a coin.
Just like a negative and a developed photograph.
Neither one is the complete truth.
The real person exists somewhere between them — three-dimensional, contradictory, constantly changing.
And perhaps that is why the teaser shows us the reflection first:
to remind us that the truth is rarely found on only one side.

a theory about the concept behind the ‘normal’ MV🧵
The entire song ‘Normal’ is built around the conflict between the inner self and the image a person is forced to create.
“How I’m ’posed to feel?”
Not:
“What do I feel?”
But:
“What am I supposed to feel?”
And this is exactly where the difference between The Reel and The Real appears.
The Reel is what makes it into the frame.
It is what can be shown to others.
An edited version of life where only the right emotions, beautiful moments, and acceptable version of yourself remain.
While The Real is everything that exists outside the frame.
The fears, the doubts, the pain that does not disappear, the parts of ourselves we try to hide because they do not fit someone else’s idea of “normality”.
“If everything’s just happy, that ain’t real.”
Because if life is always only happiness, then it stops being real.
Real life is not made only of moments we want to preserve on film.
It also contains everything we try to cut out of our own story.
