Even after causing massive devastation in Nepal, the floodwaters from the Kosi Barrage continue to flow out in a controlled and safe manner. Behind this stands Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s historic vision and strong engineering approach, which laid a lasting foundation for the nation.

Today, leaders who make grand claims and call themselves ‘Vishwaguru’ are busy cutting ribbons, while under their rule, roads and bridges collapse soon after inauguration.

The strength of projects built during Nehru’s era continues to support the nation even today, while projects under the present BJP government, allegedly compromised by corruption, often fail to last even a few months or days after inauguration.

Instead of building strong foundations, this ‘hollow development’ based on publicity and empty rhetoric has now been completely exposed before the people.
