She surrendered Pepper to Clearwater Animal Shelter and promised she would return. A housing program helped Diane get stable eight weeks ago. She visited eleven shelters before finding Pepper at the twelfth, fourteen months later. When Pepper saw her, he froze. Then he ran. They both went down on the floor and stayed there. A volunteer filmed the whole thing and cried the entire time.
A promise made in a desperate moment turned out to be one worth keeping.

@SoSaysJ ….fell flat on the ground! People rushed to help me up but I was non weight bearing for 6 weeks! I got somebody to go inside and grab a chair from their café while my daughter went and got the car. Some guys lifted me into the chair and from there I was able to get in the car.
