@thinkdefence I wonder if similar problems beset many of the earlier platforms but the general public just didn’t get to hear about any of it on a daily basis because it was all before the modern era of social media?
@CoachDanGo Hey, I’m nearly 60 and still don’t really feel old! In my mind I’m still 40 (despite the deterioration of eyesight and other inevitable issues post-50).
@AJOPersonal@DanFriedman81 Well said. All of this recent one-upmanship when the standard of living for most people in the US and Europe is actually very good by global standards is a bit ridiculous, to say the least.
@maria_drutska Keep doing what you’re doing Maria.
Raising awareness for Ukraine and continuing to do so will always be a good thing, despite the Russian-influenced far right idiots who would have otherwise.
@Victoria00025 Just because he’s the richest person in the world doesn’t make him right.
And why would he want to remove the democratically elected Starmer just because he doesn’t like him or particularly likes the way he runs things?
There are FAR worse people in the world than Starmer.
@JohnCleese Seriously, I’ve never once seen any UK Muslims objecting to anything anyone else eats, ever.
What you posted was just the usual AI-generated right wing propaganda intended to inflame the prejudices of the usual bigots.
@Mileage_impo Ford C-Max 1.0 EcoBoost PowerShift Auto. Simply awful.
Touted as a practical 7-seater until you realise that the rear occupants basically have to be garden gnomes to be able to sit in comfort.
The engine will pack up by about 100k miles of gutless, underpowered juddering.
@mycariads@Squeeze1i@Be_like_legend I’m not far off 60, and my parents would never have known what to look for as any of the signs were, at best, only barely understood in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Their generation were more likely to refuse to accept any but the most obvious of autistic traits in any case.
@martynware When you do ‘(We Don’t Need This) Fascist Groove Thang’ these days, do you swap out Reagan’s name for the present presidential cretin…?
I was wondering this while humming it to myself earlier!
@fw_naetoblaq@Favwontmiss To be fair, the parents of my generation (I’m Gen. X) probably wouldn’t have been well-informed enough to have spotted the signs that are so much better understood today.
There was probably also a fair amount of stigma around autism due to the general ignorance of the time.
@gregbagwell My last comment being somewhat tongue in cheek of course; it’s pretty much a given that Russia will already have gamed every imaginable scenario.
@gregbagwell Downloaded & read it last night. Very interesting and it understandably highlights quite a few shortcomings in the current defence network.
Let’s hope that the right people take it seriously enough to improve things and that our adversaries don’t get any ideas…!
@ProtonInspector With Spanish words used in English, some get a free pass but others do not. Paella, chorizo etc, pronounced correctly just makes us sound pretentious to other British people.
But anyone that pronounces Rioja incorrectly is basically outing themselves as an uneducated moron.
@Defence_Index The Telegraph obviously have some kind of ‘anti-GCAP’ agenda as this is their 2nd hatchet job on the project in as many weeks.
Whose tune are they dancing to…?
