In retrospect, it is more of an indictment of English food than of Turkish delight.
If you spent every day eating English food, Turkish delight probably would taste good enough to betray a family for.
What I guess I’m saying is that unseasoned food nearly took down Narnia.
My final three choices were Georgia Tech, Purdue, and Virginia Tech. I couldn’t decide, so I decided I’d go to the one whose football team was ranked highest. That was the year the Hokies lost in the Championship to FSU. So yeah, Michael Vick is 100% the reason I’m a Hokie
@clapifyoulikeme I’m taking this personally, as someone who wrote one of the few articles that might actually be okay to be read and or enjoyed by a 19 year old… 😬
Well, I wouldn't go THAT far! I don't know the guy. And while it's easy to pile on for anyone who's complaining about their "Vail experience," for all I know he went with his grandpa 40 years ago when it wasn't what it is today, and he's been saving 10 years to afford to go back.
I have no empirical evidence he flew there on his PJ or that he's got his au pair with them or any of that.
So, trying to give the guy SOMEWHAT the benefit of the doubt. I certainly sympathize with how absolutely hard it is to corral kids, book flights, arrange gear/fittings, ski school, lift tickets... it's a production.
Skiing, in and of itself, has a certain base-line of classicism built into it, but it's still definitely not the easiest vacay to coordinate, no matter your budget.
And even when the stakes are smaller, spending all that time and money to try and create a memorable weekend for your kids, maybe unlock some core memories... and have it affected by powers outside your control... that still blows, whatever your tax bracket!
So, trying to assume his venting is based more on the frustration of a dad having his investment of time and resources on behalf of his family thwarted, rather than the whining of an entitled 1%'er. I'm biologically incapable of doing it without SOME snark, but hence my phrasing of it as a "correction." 😏
