I’d have more respect for them if they said we’ve got a shit load of $ invested in this upcoming season and we need to protect that at whatever the cost. Would they be having this same round table discussion if this was the 3rd string tackle that they have $200K invested in as opposed to the first string QB whom they have north of $5 million potentially invested in? This ain’t transparency
@BrooksAustinBA This is embarrassing as hell. Would they be having this same round table discussion if it was the backup left guard. Fact is the have north of at least $50-60 million with coaches salaries and NIL invested in this upcoming season and they are trying to protect that.
@NicoleAuerbach If it was possible to make it worse they did. There is no way to defend this without sounding like a complete idiot. They more than proved that today
@PeteThamel They are going to rewatch the Miami/ND game and followed by the “gutsy” 4th down conversion by Bama against Auburn. Then it’s the Golden Corral for networking.
@OBs_Air_Horn@RossDellenger No - it’s to help put guardrails on the 3rd party funding. Which the top teams are spending even more or equal to the $21 stipulated by the NCAA
@NathanBrice3000@jq6008@RossDellenger That’s not accurate. If it gets to that point - ND would join.
None of it would look the same. You don’t think the Big 10 would dump Rutgers or Maryland for ND’s TV draw?
@dogeholder34@xTheLordDragonx@Brett_McMurphy Oh I’m well aware of it. College coaches don’t sign anything. But the Conference commissioners did. The MOU was signed in spring of 24’.
My question is why would all the conference commissioners sign that?
@Bigorangejosh@JoshPateCFB 1) that never happened
2) that coach was fired and the school he coached for was banned from that match next year
3) that never happened
You’re allowed to not like him. No reason to lie. Show exactly when and where he “beat up” a HS wrestling coach.
@flt_cmdr@mikefriess@JoshPateCFB@NDFootball I seriously don’t understand how ND can waive a magic wand and get all this “special treatment”. Why are the conferences collectively all signing off on this? Why has Auburn, Texas, Alabama, Clemson, BYU, Florida and Michigan all signed future home and homes?
Why should anyone be forced to do anything. All these “benefits” you’re referring to. The conferences all signed off on. ND didn’t make it last year. There’s no residual $ coming in from a conference. It’s make or break. Why not have more schools get their own TV deals and go independent? It’s because they can’t.
