That scene during their first night together when he goes online and looks up other people’s experiences should have happened BEFORE the wish. How am i supposed to think this guy’s a villain when he’s also being abused by the wish? He doesn’t know what he’s doing.
I think movie goers are having understandably big emotions about the events portrayed in Obsession. However, i can’t help but feel the same pang of recognition i feel when i watch sensationalist news coverage.
By the time he learns the only way out is death, he’s already made the wish. He’s not forced to make the decision *KNOWING* it could be bad. He doesn’t expect it to work. If he did, maybe he would have worded it differently.
It's pretty clear to me that a lot of people on the outside looking in think that when a director makes a movie that makes a ton of money, that director is personally making a ton of money. That would make sense! And I'd love to see that be the reality. In most cases, it is not.
Curry Barker’s decision to leave the one wish willow purposefully vague in Obsession is inviting some of the stupidest questions ive ever heard in interviews
“What was the guy on the phone’s deal? Who was he?”
Well if you watched the movie youd know hes a customer service rep for the one wish willow. He exists so we know that one of them will die. There is nothing more to it.
Just like the customer service rep- these moments are gags. The joke is that you think that first woman didnt exist and that the one wish willows are not sold there. But he’s fucking with him. Its like. The end of the whole scene. Its a joke
“I think the first shop worker wished to be a man” yeah the woman who embodies the feminine crystal girlie? She actualy wanted to be a man? Be so for real rn
Guillermo del Toro says AI is a form of "natural stupidity"
“We are on the verge of image illiteracy. We are on the verge of cinema illiteracy... The pact between man and image is sacred, but we are in a time when that is in danger... We are told images can be generated by artificial means. The existence of an image is not just to be there. It is to connect us, to make us feel beauty,” he said.

Original BLAIR WITCH PROJECT star Heather Donahue/Rei Hance has explained why she's not part of the reboot team.
"I was offered an agreement that, for me personally, raised difficult long-term questions about rights, future technological use of identity and voice, the ability to speak freely, and compensation. Ultimately, it just wasn’t something I felt comfortable signing.
"I genuinely wish everyone involved well. But preserving my autonomy mattered more to me."
I swear they started writing her as if a 40 pound weight difference dramatically reduced her skills as an actor. Downright insulting to one of the best actors on the show.
Looking back it was absolutely criminal what was done to Alison DiLaurentis in the later seasons of ‘Pretty Little Liars’.
Unfortunately, the minute the actress gained weight they styled her as a grandma, rather than the ‘Queen Bee’ character we had all grown to love to hate over the course of the show.
Sasha had even spoken about this in an interview saying that the people on the show did not know how to properly dress her & that the writers on the show started writing her character differently.
Despite the people on the show trying to be respectful about it, the damage was already done.
It feels as though Barker is moving his characters around on a board game as he sees fit. There’s no interiority or underlying motivations that exist outside of Bear’s imperceptible arc. So when they die, who cares?
Still thinking about how Ian makes his wish directly in front of Bear and then for some reason goes to his house two minutes after bear leaves to tell him about the wish? We know? It just happened? He goes there to get shot in the head and for no other reason.
I swear, after Bear makes the wish he never makes another decision that affects the plot. He is being flung from one crash out to another, learning the only way to keep her happy is to stop asking hard questions.
Real Nikki has less than twenty minutes of screen time. In order for the wish to work, she has to disappear almost entirely. bear does not get what he wants. That is not Nikki. Nothing she does is motivated by who Nikki is. Because she is gone.
