Minneapolis Blended 8 YOU ROCK!!!! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and ideas about assessment tonight! Feel free to go back and read through the chat to process the concept of assessment at your own pace. Ideas were flying!!! #MB8assess
Q8: As you reflect on your classroom, which area of assessment is the most prominent (of, as, for)? How do you know this, and is it making a difference in your students’ learning? #MB8assess
@EAlbrecht77 A7: Has anyone ever heard of VABBing? We need to be validating, affirming, building and bridging with our students in order to meet their SEL needs during learning! #MB8assess
@ktbhiggins A6: STUDENT CHOICE! For literacy comprehension I let my students choose how they can demonstrate their work. From slides on the chrome book to creative posters to written essays... the kids have a voice! #MB8assess
A4: incorporating assessments through out a unit helps teachers and students see where they are at and where they need to go. Small assessments such as exit tickets can be useful! #MB8assess
@EAlbrecht77 A1: Instead of assessing students, handing back the graded assessment, and moving on, we have to find a way for students to interact with the content and grow from the mistakes.
@EAlbrecht77 A1: Reflection is key! Getting students to reflect on their learning and set goals will move the dial and make assessments more meaningful! #MB8assess
