This a document courtesy of Dr. Sullivan (@pittstate) (circa 1978) show how Vocational Ed (CTE) and Industrial Arts (Tech Ed) were cohesive from the 60s - 80s. THIS WAS THE MODEL IN KS! Industrial Arts (grades 6-9) and Vocational Ed (10-12). @KSDEcte@ksdehq @KsCommissioner
Be proactive, not reactive! Kansas should set the standard for other states, not just follow the standard. They saw the potential of Technology and Engineering Ed, decades ago, but we seem to have lost it!
The idea was introductory IA courses in middle school to high school vocational ed courses (e.g industrial arts communications to vocational electronics, industrial arts manufacturing to vocational machining, industrial arts transportation
to vocational automotive mechanics)
Still holds true! Document containing the differences and similarities of Vocational Education (Career and Technical Education) and Industrial Arts Education (Technology and Engineering Education). @ksdehq @KsCommissioner @KSDEcte
This week we embarked on an advocacy campaign for the inclusion of Technology and Engineering Education in our State CTE Model. If you’re interested in supporting this please sign the petition. Anyone from anywhere can still voice their support! #TechEd https://t.co/g3gE7FyRPq
