Some of us can't afford to go get gas, groceries and buy bottled water. For some of us, our paychecks haven't come in yet to do this. For many of us, are food stamps/SNAP benefits haven't come in yet. There's a lot of us where we just finished paying all of our bills and we have nothing left.
We can't even evacuate because we don't have money to leave. THIS is capitalism when natural disasters strike.

The first mask ban was 2010. Workers cleaning oil in the aftermath of BP's spill were forbidden from using PPE. BP didn't want workers' masked faces telling the world it was toxic waste in the sand. Every aspect of the response to the gas explosion (and covid) reminds me of that.
