*trans person who’s around people who misgender them constantly voice* yeah, you know, i just dont really care about my gender or how people refer to me or see me. im jusy me, like, you can call me she or he or they or whatever i dont really care haha, my genders up to you lol
Some advice to the men raiding with a female static member:
- She isn't flirting with you
- She isn't into you
- She isn't lesser than you
- She probably out parses you
- No you shouldn't blast her dms after she rejects your confession after 3 weeks of raiding together
it’s the men who raid lead and the men they’re friends with that talk over you about your job
the ones who think they’re better with equal raiding experience to you and try to get you kicked
the ones who wrest control then harass n-b raiders they assign women
should i continue
it’s the men like sfia who are popular players and public mentors of their craft, but privately use that popularity against others
it’s popular streamers like arthars who openly goon and degrade on twitch
it’s people who uncritically share them and trickles down from there
“at least i didn’t try to fuck you” god, you have had a wife for several years, you have a child, do you realize how insane and horrible that sounds in addition to that context? do you realize how multiple people are getting disrespected and harassed by your behavior? holy shit
If you're making memes about the current situation for ez likes and you're not still talking about the issue next week, you're exactly the reason these issues aren't taken seriously and why nothing ever changes for women in this community.
please understand this situation of women (and minorities) not feeling welcomed/safe in wf/hardcore raiding is still a problem and it isn't miraculously solved just because one person was outed to be a scumbag. it's still an ongoing perpetual problem that needs to be addressed
Bringing back this chart. I don’t love
All the wording on it but I do think the major point of “you don’t need to be a literal predator to be part of the problem” is showed well here.
i went back to being the token lesbian this tier but having 2 or 3/8 lesbians last tier made me feel like i was frolicking in the fields so i can confirm
are the people who control popular FFXIV outlets—youtube, interviews and podcasts, information discords—going to continue to platform these kinds of people? is the community at large going to financially and popularly support them, and continue to leave everyone different to dry?
and these kinds of people are often placed in raid lead positions or with significantly higher standings within a static; and even standard members who do not act this disgustingly still either befriend them or disparage the same people, even subconsciously
i’m sick of hearing from friends how other raiders look down on us for the sole fault of being seen as different, especially considering the present convo as women (derogatory)
and yet as the conversation continues i find myself wondering if even this will change anything
