New CO Alarm Rules – EFFECTIVE Now!
As of Jan 1st, the Fire Code requires one on EVERY storey of your home if you have a fuel-burning appliance, fireplace, or attached garage and outside sleeping areas!
Owners and landlords are responsible! It’s law!

Effective Jan 1st, 2026 changes to the OFC will expand the areas where carbon monoxide (CO) alarms are required in existing homes, multi-unit residential buildings! All Landlords are responsible!
