Parliament was debating the Assisted Reproductive Technology Bill in which Hon. Millie Odhiambo proposed surrogacy for those who can’t conceive naturally.
I brought amendments to the Bill, all of which were passed by Parliament.
On this day, Hon. Millie had claimed that my amendments proposals had delayed and stopped her from getting a child through surrogacy.
I responded that laws are made for posterity and that Parliament shouldn’t allow wrong provisions to pass. I also told Millie that nothing stopped her from having a child even now as surrogacy is not prohibited in Kenya, giving the example of Hon. Shabir who had confirmed begetting children through the process even as the Bill was still being considered.
It is malicious and defamatory to republish this parliamentary engagement over a year later without providing this context.

In February 2021, a Kenyan man, Alex Ngata, noticed his late father’s phone lost network signal. He immediately suspected foul play and went to a Safaricom shop to renew the line. The moment the new SIM card was activated in his phone, a flood of backlogged text messages poured in.

The messages revealed a terrifying reality. Notifications showed continuous, heavy transactions draining his late father's bank accounts. Alerts confirmed that mobile banking apps had just been newly installed and configured on an unknown device.

Right after replacing the SIM card at Safaricom, Alex visited NCBA Bank, Equity Bank, and Co-operative Bank, where he officially confirmed that Sh2.8 million had been siphoned from his late father's bank accounts via mobile banking applications (the NCBA App, Eazzy Banking, and MCo-op Cash).

The banks confirmed that the stolen cash had been transferred directly to a specific mobile number: 0716 546633. Armed with the bank statements, the transaction logs, and the destination phone number, he reported the heist to the DCI.

Once the report was filed, the DCI's Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) alongside the Operations Branch took over the case.

The very first move detectives made was pulling the logs for 0716 546633, the Safaricom line that received the stolen Sh2.8 million. Detectives ran a registration check on the recipient phone number, and discovered a chilling anomaly: the number belonged to a dead person.

Specifically, the line was registered to Rev. Peter Kania, the former Secretary-General of the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA), who had passed away several months earlier.

To the detectives, this was a bizarre and unprecedented situation. The mechanics of how a deceased father's line could drop signal and how a dead clergyman could actively transact baffled investigators.

CRIB detectives immediately ran a forensic analysis on the SIM card’s historical tower data, tracking where the phone line was physically "pinging" cell towers when it accessed the banking apps. This mapping data proved the SIM card was active long after Rev. Kania had been buried.

To understand how the fraudsters knew the exact account balances of Alex's late father, detectives turned their eyes toward the financial institutions. Cyber-auditors reviewed the digital footprints left behind on the banks' internal servers. Every time an employee views a customer’s private profile, the system logs their unique credentials.

The audit flagged that Equity Bank teller Eutycus Mutembei had zero operational reason to access these specific accounts. His credentials were caught red-handed browsing through the financial portfolios of recently deceased, wealthy individuals.

As the tech teams unraveled the digital trail, a massive "can of worms" was exposed, revealing a highly organized SIM-swap syndicate that operated with chilling precision inside Kenya.

Detectives discovered that the syndicate did not guess targets at random. They systematically monitored newspaper death announcements and obituaries to identify wealthy individuals who had recently passed away, knowing their bank accounts remained liquid while grieving families were preoccupied.

Shockingly, the fraudsters had even attended Alex's father's burial arrangements. Posing as well-wishers and friends, members of the syndicate actively helped the family raise funds and sold portraits of the deceased to mourners. This proximity allowed them to comfortably phish for family dynamics, look at death certificates, and figure out who would be handling the estate.

Once a target was selected, the operation relied on an active, illegal data breach within financial institutions. Armed with account details provided by their insider, Eutycus Mutembei, the syndicate would execute the fraudulent SIM swap to intercept the bank OTP codes and drain the funds.

We cannot reduce money being paid by Kenyans into NSSF this is a plainly misleading intellectually dishonest policy.

NSSF money it money you will get after you retire. When you contribute 2000 your employer matches so you have 4000. In one year that is 48,000 and in 20 years that is 960,000 without interest.

Compare this to the measly 200 bob that was being contributed before the NSSF act 2013 was before.

Also the act allowed one to channel money to private pension (ie employer can remit the majority of the money to probate pension and only send the ‘ minimum ‘ amount to government)

It also allowed for tax free pension up to 30,000 a month.

Fellas, the NSSF act enforcement was created with the worker in mind and this money is what is being invested in various assets classes to gain interest for future use. It is patient capital that if deployed correctly can transform how people retire.

We honestly cannot allow populists like Ndindi Nyoro to deploy these funds for things they are not meant for.

After i joined Kalmar FF my first professional club, during my medical test they discovered that I have what is called thickness of the heart which is very common among people in the west African countries.

Another discovery was that during my EKG rest test they found that my heartbeat is T-wave minus which is also not common in European countries but it is majorly common in west African countries.

My first test was in 2008 and I was able to play all my career without any problems but I had to do test every year to see how the thickness is time to time.

At first my Coach in Kalmar FF then said I could play 90min football and you can find this information on my Wikipedia page. The coach thought it's best for me to be a substitute player since he believed my heart situation would be a problem even if the doctor says otherwise.

It was a frustrating experience for me when the coach said I couldn't play for 90min. I took my heart thing very seriously and I stayed away from anything that could give me problem to play.

After two years everything changed and the coach started giving me 90min games and I felt very good.

Another incident about my heart issue also came out when I did my medical test before I signed for Red Star Belgrade and the doctor said I had heart problem and because I already knew I have thickness of the heart muscle and a T-wave minus, I wasn't scared at all.

This was also the major reason why the Agreed 2year half contract with Red Star was shortened to 1year and half and of course the money offered thinking I wouldn't be able to play well but God plan was bigger than theirs.

The medical took 3 days and I was given a heart monitor to sleep with for those days and after all research I was declared fit to play. The biggest issue I had with my heart condition was in Belarus during my medical with Dinamo Minsk. They scared me into thinking I have a problem so i can take the contract they wrote on a toilet paper.

I'm sharing this because I know some of you young players don't know about this stuff when it comes to your heart conditions and I know some people can testify to what am saying here and if you have faced the same thing like I have please sharing your experience and let other people know about this so called THICKNESS OF THE HEART AND THE T-WAVE MINUS HEART EKG RESTING TEST.

In interesting story is developing in my beloved Homa Bay County. Recently The County Women Representative used County Affirmative Actuon funds to construct house for her brother. This action drew massive criticism from residents including some popular musicians. One such musician called Atomy Sifa called her out and exposed the rot in her incompetent and corrupt leadership. The women rep was very angry and promised to deal with him. Yesterday she sent her employee with a bull, tied it in the compound of the musician when he was away perfoming at a local club then called the Police claiming that the musician had stolen her bull. When the musician came back and found the bull in his compound, he decided to leave it tied where it was saying that the owner will just come and take it home. Police from Kendu Bay Police Station responded swiftly, went to the musicians home found the bull still tied where it was tied and arrested the musician, locked him up at Kendu Bay Police cells. This action by the Women Rep angered Members of the public who demanded she apologises to the musician. So today when the musician was produced in court, the Women Rep feeling the heat, appeared in court herself and withdrew the case pretending that she had found the lost bull. Years ago, much of our weightlifting talent came from athletes who had transitioned from bodybuilding. Today, that mindset has changed. They are identifying children as young as 8-10 years old, developing them systematically, and believing in the process. The results are now beginning to show on the international stage. The same shift has happened in the Triathlon Kenya. Instead of relying mainly on older swimmers converting to triathlon, they invested n developing young triathletes through a structured pathway. Today, they are enjoying the rewards of that long-term vision.

A useful rule of thumb in athlete development is the 10-year/10,000-hour principle. While every athlete progresses differently, sustained, high-quality training over many years is what gives talented youngsters the best opportunity to reach elite performance.

The pathway remains clear:

• Active Start: 0-6 years
• Fundamentals: 6-9 years
• Learn to Train: 9-12 years
• Train to Train: 12-16 years
• Train to Compete: 16-21/23 years
• Train to Win: 18/19+ years

Our responsibility as coaches, parents, and federations is simple:

Identify talent, nurture talent, and develop talent. Then have the patience to trust the process.

Champions are not discovered on the podium, they are developed long before the medals are won.

When @David_Ornstein exclusively reported on the 26th of June a proposal was sent. It was an offer below 60m and it was rejected. You then were told no bid has even been made? This happened again and again you were told…’no direct contact / no official bid’ …In early July I exclusively reported Bruno respectfully told Eddie Howe directly he wants to leave if possible for sporting reasons. Fast forward to Thursday.. widespread reports of a 70m bid…my understanding is that was also rejected in the past days.

In our pursuit for our top target Tonali, it became abundantly clear the agent fees, the wages and the transfer fee was just not reflective of the player’s quality and ceiling. During this pursuit we were made aware of Bruno G’s ’desire and availability’. Enter Kia Joorabchian. If there is one thing to know about this individual is that not only is he a super agent but he mingles in super wealthy circles and even enjoys purchasing very very very expensive horses with Premier League owners. Why is that relevant? Let me explain.

My understanding is that Kia has always been talking to someone very highly ranked within Newcastle. One may even suggest ownership level talks with Kia as you now know the type of circles he moves in…. So this whole process / the verbal offers have been made in THESE discussions. The Newcastle press and respect to all of them have been reporting in good faith about ‘no official offer / no direct contact’ because no Arsenal employee has not contacted them yet and no official offer has been made.

On the 14th of July, I reported 80-85m is where serious talks take place. Now you are hearing ‘the number has to start with an 8’ for serious talks to begin’….When / if Kia makes a breakthrough on the fee and it’s all agreed at a high level…then the actual official bid will go in and things will move rapid.

Bruno is obligated to join up with Newcastle this Friday…Kia is still in talks…feels like a really important few days. Arsenal will stick to their valuation with Kia really pushing for a breakthrough.
