We are saddened to learn of the passing of NASA astronaut Joe Engle at age 91. He was a 1955 KU aeronautical engineering grad and member of the NASA Class of '66. He commanded space shuttle missions in '81 and '85. He received KU's Distinguished Engineering Service Award in '82.

Great group on hand to cut the ribbon for the full-scale distillation column in the KU chemical engineering unit operations lab. This is one of the few labs in the country that provides students with a hands-on, full-scale learning experience. Thanks to Koch for the support.

The next installment of the KU Engineering Career Accelerator lecture is at 4pm Wed., March 20, in the Beren Center, Slawson Hall. Cody LoMonaco with Burns & McDonnell will deliver the lecture. He earned his master’s in civil engineering from KU in 2015. Free pizza will be served
