Parlakhemundi, 29 October.
Adivasi Sangharsh Morcha (ASM) took out a demonstration at Tehsil office in Nuagadh Block of Gajapati District, against illegal grab of lands belonging to tribal villagers, and forcing them to migrate, and submitted a 20-point charter of demands to the CM of Odisha.
Protesters also demanded Rs 600 as MGNREGA wages, and 300 units of electricity to poor and BPL families, increasing Prime Minister Awas Yojana assistance to Rs.5 lakhs.
The demand for remunerative prices for crops like maize, Jhardu, Herbs, and other Forest Products, as well as 50 kg. provision of rice to all ration card holders also raised.
