While many teachers are sharing their Amazon wishlists, I desperately need a small group table for my classroom. Please consider donating as this is essential to helping my students learn in a comfortable space. Thank you in advance! https://t.co/O5ROZnAKnZ
WHY ARE TEACHERS LEAVING THE PROFESSION?
•Inadequate preparation for new teachers
•Lack of support
•Class sizes
•Low salaries
•Lunch & prep times are too short
•Better opportunities elsewhere
•Student behaviors with inadequate consequences
MUST DO BETTER! #EdChat

@SecCardona How about you start with teachers and other public service employees?? Why make the PSLF so difficult to get? Make it available for all repayment plans!
It seems that elementary school teachers rhyme everything they can to get their students to learn it.
Which also means that there’s a good chance that the next hip hop legend is currently teaching kindergarten.
No one should care how a kindergartener compares on a standardized test with kindergarteners around the country. They should care if the kindergartener feels cared for, valued, and actually enjoys coming to school to learn. Its Kindergarten!
Problems Facing Public Schools They Don’t Talk Enough About
•Class Size
•Proper Sleep & Nutrition
•Physical Exercise
•Family Factors
•Parent Involvement
•Student Behavioral Challenges
•Treating Teachers Like CRAP
•Schools Taking on Too Much
•Teacher Salaries

Schools spend so much time talking about tier 2 & tier 3 interventions. The things we do for some kids, sometimes.
We can nullify the need for so many of these conversations if we’d just dial in to great tier 1 instruction. What are we doing for all kids, all the time? #edchat
Real learning loss is:
- students not having a teacher because they resigned.
- students having teachers who are burnt out.
- students having teachers who are struggling to survive so they have to work another job.
- students not having the resources that they need.
