Andoni to get £130m Barcola as signing bonus.
Maresca got £116m Anderson as signing bonus.
Alonso got £117m Rogers as signing bonus.
Arteta to get £75m Guimarães as winning bonus.
Carrick to resurrect Mason Mount as bonus for getting champions league qualification 😭. I get you don't want to overpay but show ambition, INEOS!!!
We have such a strong base. We also know what we lack. If we fix the squad, we have a genuine chance at big titles. I truly believe that. Unfortunately, the club won’t sign those players and we will never know what we could have achieved with a good squad.
If we’re being completely honest, this has been a very poor transfer window from #MUFC so far. How do you expect to compete at the highest level when your rivals are strengthening with world‑class players and operating freely in an inflated market, without barriers on wages and fees? Yes, Man Utd have implemented a wage structure and price‑cap strategy, but at the end of the day, if you want to compete, you have to pay for the best.
On top of that, United are very poor at selling. Rivals are moving on non‑starters for sizeable fees, while United struggle to shift players who are starting games every week. Does that reduce spending power because of low income generated? Absolutely, but who’s responsible for that? Poor squad planning, poor timing, and poor market strategy.
And whilst I, like many others am hopeful that the signings of Tielemans and Santos will prove successful, these deals weren’t exactly difficult to complete. One was triggered via a release clause, and the other involved a £50m purchase from a club actively looking to offload the player.
There is still time left in this window, and I’m hopeful Michael Carrick is given the players and squad he deserves after securing Champions League football when nobody thought it was possible six months ago.
Everyday I feel like today must be the day we would get the news about United being in advanced negotiation for a player. Every single day, I get disappointed.
What really is happening at United? I hope all this silence ends with us signing 4 really top level players. If we end of up with mediocre players, all the media management will be for nothing.
Kvaratskhelia, one of the best wingers in Europe and back to back CL winner gets paid £170k a week, but angry birds on twitter think we should have given Fernandes £250k a week.
Arsenal have a good midfield, but I didn’t necessarily think they had a top midfield. I thought United had an easy game against them both times we played them last season.
Bruno G will change that situation though. Very good midfielder. Will be a great addition if they can sign him. United should be all over him.
Bruno is coming back to Manchester with a point to prove. Be prepared for a legendary season.
@ManUtd Sign a few elite players. We have a title to win. @OmarBerrada
Think Spain are better
But
Ronaldo’s egotism and Martinez’s absurd indulgence have cost a brilliant Portugal generation a trophy, and even a proper chance at one. Not even a semi-final since 2016.
It would not have been a bargain deal to sign Mateus for 85m, but it would have been the right deal.
I genuinely don’t know where we go next. Bigger issue is the club doesn’t know where they go next.
Madrid can do 3/4 deals in a week. Then you hear United claiming they need 4 weeks to follow one midfielder and not moving to other targets until that player is signed.
How incompetent are these people? Let me explain.
— Berrada comes from City. At City, he had the luxury to throw money at players. I don’t know how that translate to United. I hope he proves me wrong.
— Wilcox really learning on the job. He just didn’t have much experience of DoF at the highest level before joining us.
— Vivell: Don’t know what he is doing. Sesko was his signing. Apart from that, he has signed for the academy. Why isn’t he in charge of the academy signing, why is he the director of first team signings?
— Sansoni: Man came from F1 literally. No experience in football data.
Are these best in class that was promised to us?
Brilliant plan. Newcastle have already sold Gordon and Tonali. Bruno G may leave for Arsenal.
In August we will approach them for Hall. Then we will act surprised that they don’t want to sell any more player.
Absolutely brilliant plan.
United had an opportunity last summer to make our attack one of the best in the league and we did.
This summer, they have an opportunity to form one of the best midfield in the country. So far, it’s not looking good.
Few midfielders in the market for whom high wages make sense — Tchouameni, Bruno G.
250k for Mateus is insane if Spurs are really paying that. I wouldn’t have paid that wage really.
