Today marks the 80th anniversary of the martyrdom of Allah Bux Soomro, former Chief Minister of Sindh.

He would receive legendary status and become the inspiration behind nationalist movements. We owe our family respect and honour to him.

PAKISTAN: The Supreme Court's order today granting bail to human rights lawyers Imaan-Mazari Hazir and Hadi Ali Chattha, and the suspension of their sentence, is a welcome step and a long overdue relief towards undoing immense injustice against them. Imaan and Hadi have been unlawfully imprisoned for nearly eight months as a result of their human rights work.

Amnesty International urges the authorities to immediately and unconditionally release them, quash their sentences and ensure that no new charges are brought against them to unlawfully deny them their right to liberty.

The Presidency wishes to advise that, due to ill health, President @CyrilRamaphosa is currently booked off from public engagements.

President Ramaphosa, who returned from the BRICS Summit in India on Monday, has been advised by his medical team to rest and recover.

Where possible, the President has asked the respective Ministers to represent him at scheduled public engagements.
