50+ phones reportedly stolen during/after the @SunburnUnion event of @SeedheMaut in @Koramangala, Bengaluru yesterday.
My & my Brother phone was among them. What is extremely concerning is how so many phones could be stolen from a single venue during an event where thousands of people were present.
Multiple victims were at the @kmangalaps police station, filing complaints one after another. Several phones were actively showing locations. In my case, I personally tracked my phone live and identified the house/building where the phone appeared to have entered. I immediately shared this information with the police.
Yet the response we kept hearing was: “Tomorrow morning only something can happen.”
Even now, phones belonging to victims are reportedly pinging at different locations, but I have still not received any formal call/update regarding my phone or the information I provided.
This is not just about a ₹₹ phone. These are our hard-earned belongings, personal data, photographs, documents and years of our lives stored in those devices.
@BlrCityPolice@CPBlr@DgpKarnataka — what is being done right now to trace these phones and apprehend those responsible?
And @sunburnunionbengaluru / Sunburn Union Kormangala management — if this is a recurring issue after events, what security measures are actually being taken? How can 50+ phones be stolen at one venue without stronger preventive measures or an immediate response mechanism?
We paid to attend an event expecting a safe and enjoyable evening. Instead, many of us went home having lost expensive personal belongings.
We need answers, accountability and immediate action — not “tomorrow morning.”
