This followed numerous unsuccessful visits to the bank where he received no assistance or clarity from officials. What is even more shocking is the bank’s attempt to justify this inhuman conduct by citing adherence to RBI guidelines. This reflects a disturbing intent by officials to hide behind procedures and abandon the very people they are meant to serve. In a democracy, rules are meant to empower citizens, not humiliate them.
This horrifying incident has outraged public sentiment across #Odisha and has also drawn international media attention, including coverage by the New York Post and the BBC. Though isolated, this incident highlights the urgent need for a more humane banking administration, especially in remote tribal areas.
Urge Nirmala Sitharaman ji to ensure clear accountability is fixed immediately for this shocking lapse. Also urge you to send a strong signal to all rural banks to guarantee citizen-centric service delivery with empathy and compassion. I am confident that with your compassionate intervention, such inhuman treatment of citizens will not be repeated anywhere else in the country.

लखनऊ में एक पूर्व अफसर की पत्नी डिजिटल अरेस्ट ठगी गिरोह का शिकार होने से बच गईं। जालसाजों ने उनको फोन कर दिल्ली ब्लॉस्ट में फंसाने की धमकी दी थी। डरी सहमी महिला अपने डेढ़ करोड़ की 12 एफडी तोड़वाने के लिए पंजाब नेशनल बैंक शाखा में पहुंच गईं।
उन्होंने बैंक की डिप्टी मैनेजर से सारे रुपए निकलवाने की बात की। इतनी बड़ी रकम निकालने की बात पर डिप्टी मैनेजर ने सवाल किए। लेकिन डर के मारे वह कुछ बोल नहीं रही थीं। उनके चेहरे पर डर का भाव देख डिप्टी मैनेजर को शक हो गया। इसके बाद पूरे मामले का खुलासा हुआ।
महिला की पहचान विकास नगर की रहने वाली उषा शुक्ला (74) के रूप में हुई। बैंक अफसरों और पुलिस ने उषा की जीवन भर की कमाई को बचा लिया गया।

पश्चिम रेलवे द्वारा रेलवे बोर्ड के निर्देशानुसार तत्काल बुकिंग प्रणाली में एक महत्वपूर्ण बदलाव लागू किया जा रहा है। अब तत्काल टिकट केवल सिस्टम द्वारा भेजे गए वन टाइम पासवर्ड (OTP) के सत्यापन के बाद ही जारी किए जाएंगे।
यह ओटीपी उस मोबाइल नंबर पर भेजा जाएगा, जो यात्री द्वारा बुकिंग के समय दिया जाएगा। ओटीपी का सफल सत्यापन होने पर ही टिकट जारी किया जाएगा।
यात्रियों से अनुरोध है कि वे बुकिंग के समय वैध मोबाइल नंबर अवश्य उपलब्ध कराएँ, ताकि OTP सत्यापन प्रक्रिया सुचारू रूप से पूरी हो सके।
I keep wondering why India, with millions of non-data users, still doesn’t offer dedicated call-only plans especially for senior citizens and underage users. Not everyone needs data, yet people are pushed into buying data-inclusive plans because there’s no alternative. Why force unnecessary costs on those who only want to make and receive calls? Telecom companies should introduce true call-only packages that actually meet people’s needs!!!
