The depth of suffering being experienced by survivors of the landslides in Wayanad is unimaginable.

Whole families have been swept away leaving sole survivors, children left without a single relative, grandmothers without any family member to take care of them, a young nurse widowed while on holiday with her husband, a sixteen year old boy who struggled to save his family, holding out for six hours in the dark but could save only his grandmother, a nine year old child saying that all his friends have been swept away in the raging waters…we owe it to all of them to stand by them through this terrible tragedy. We will do all we can to help rebuild their lives and provide them with comfort and support.

My heartfelt gratitude to all the relief workers, army personnel, volunteers, officers of the administration, panchayat members and party workers involved in relief and rescue efforts.

Your courage and dedication is admirable, it reflects the unbreakable spirit of the people of Wayanad.

उत्तराखंड में भारी बारिश के कारण कई लोगों की मृत्यु का समाचार अत्यंत पीड़ादायक है।

शोकाकुल परिजनों के प्रति गहरी संवेदनाएं व्यक्त करता हूं। साथ ही सभी श्रद्धालुओं और स्थानीय नागरिकों की सुरक्षा की आशा करता हूं।

हिमाचल प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खू जी से बात कर इस विषम परिस्थिति का जायज़ा लिया है।

उन्होंने बताया कि वो स्वयं इन घटनास्थलों पर जा रहे हैं और इसी दौरान NDRF, SDRF और प्रदेश प्रशासन इस संकट की घड़ी में राहत और बचाव कार्यों में प्रतिबद्धता के साथ लगातार सम्मिलित है।
