पचपन साल तक एक कलश जिनेवा में पड़ा रहा और दिल्ली में किसी को याद नहीं आया कि वो किसका है। श्यामजी कृष्ण वर्मा मरते वक्त कह गए थे मेरी राख को भारत तब ले जाना जब वो आजाद हो जाए। देश 1947 में आजाद तो हो गया पर दिल्ली में बैठी सरकार को वो आजादी याद नहीं रही जिसमें इंडिया हाउस की दीवारों पर बम बनाने के फॉर्मूले लिखे जाते थे।

क्योंकि उस कहानी में कांग्रेस नहीं थी इसलिए वो कहानी सिलेबस से बाहर कर दी गई।

श्यामजी कौन थे जो भुला दिए गए? वो कच्छ के मांडवी का लड़का जो ऑक्सफोर्ड में संस्कृत पढ़ाता था, जो 1905 में लंदन में इंडिया हाउस बनाता है, विदेश में भारत की पहली क्रांतिकारी सरकार का हेडक्वार्टर। वहीं से इंडियन होम रूल सोसाइटी शुरू की और कहा संसद में जाकर कि भारत को आजादी चाहिए भीख नहीं।

वहीं से द इंडियन सोशियोलॉजिस्ट मैगजीन निकाली जिसने पहली बार खुलेआम लिखा कि सशस्त्र क्रांति जायज है। उसी इंडिया हाउस ने वीर सावरकर को शिष्य बनाया, मैडम भीकाजी कामा को झंडा दिया, मदनलाल धींगरा और लाला हरदयाल जैसे बम-बंदूक वाले लड़के पैदा किए। छत्रपति शिवाजी के नाम पर तीन स्कॉलरशिप बनाईं, शर्त रखी कि ऑक्सफोर्ड पढ़कर लौटोगे तो अंग्रेजों के खिलाफ लिखोगे।

ऐसे आदमी का क्या काम कांग्रेस की कहानी में? तो उनकी अस्थियां स्विट्जरलैंड में धूल खाती रहीं।

2003 में एक मुख्यमंत्री बिना प्रोटोकॉल के जिनेवा गया। कोई प्रधानमंत्री नहीं, कोई विदेश मंत्री नहीं। गुजरात का मुख्यमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी। दो कलश हाथ में लेकर लौटा, एक श्यामजी का, एक उनकी पत्नी भानुमती का। जैसे कोई बेटा अपने बाप को घर ला रहा हो। मुंबई से मांडवी तक अस्थि यात्रा, हर स्टेशन पर फूल।

आज मांडवी में समंदर के सामने वही इंडिया हाउस खड़ा है, हूबहू। अंदर उसी कमरे में दो कलश रखे हैं। वहां जाओ तो लगता है राख नहीं, आग रखी है।

जिस देश में कांग्रेस ने पचास साल तक अपने क्रांतिकारी की राख तक वापस लाने की जहमत नहीं उठाई, उसी देश में मोदी ने उसे तीर्थ बना दिया।

बदलाव ऐसे भी होते हैं।

आज श्री रंगा हरि जी की पुस्तक द स्टोरी ऑफ वंदे मातरम के विमोचन के अवसर पर कुलपति महोदय प्रो. @YeDesHaiMera जी यह बात कही तो सच में मन भावुक हो गया। मोदी जी को भगवान शतायु करें।

2. Form 6, used for voter registration, was NOT amended.

The allegations against the CEC are now facing serious questions.
