The Monk & The Umbrella … is a tale which highlights that unnecessary stress and suffering is not to be mistaken for grit and resilience. Being prepared, tactful and mindful is a better skill to reach the same destination.
I spent the evening with the leadership team at Zydus in Delhi — a room full of people who run large teams across the country, make decisions with consequences, and … deliver. Despite the stature and experience in the room, there was an openness to listen, question, and participate with genuine intent.
I left the room with these reflections - and perhaps they are worth asking ourselves too:
1. Where do your teams need to experience your presence more, not just your direction ?
2. Where might stepping closer, without lowering the bar change outcomes?
3. And if leadership were a mirror, would it recognise you everywhere you go ?
Goals don’t die in December.
They check if YOU did.
If you’re still interested to make it to the finish line of ur goals, then there is still hope.
- Pick one unfinished goal & put your heart & soul to take it to the finish line.
- Stop redesigning the plan. Just keep it simple.
