I remember watching Shivam Dube vs RCB at DY Patil in IPL 2022. Until then I thought he was a liability - expensive with the ball, average in the field, and a bit overrated as an “all-rounder.”
Then came that 95* off 46. That innings made me notice him. IPL 2023 changed everything. He reinvented himself as a middle-overs spin basher.
The last two seasons at CSK were decent, though I feel he wasn’t always used well. But his performances for India over the past two years have been superb. Calm under pressure, many mature innings that quietly won games.
After this World Cup, I’m convinced he’s a bonafide match-winner.
From almost hate-watching him to becoming an ardent supporter, it’s been quite a journey.
Congrats India on winning the ICC Men's T20 World Cup! chose the wrong game to go watch:) what a stadium and atmosphere. Well played to the other semi finalists, SA, Eng and Nz!! Also so exciting to see the game expand to so many countries and congrats to ICC for a great tournament!
@GemsOfCricket History needs to change. We've lost a home world cup in Semis at Wankhede and in Finals at NMS. Then again, we have Surya with his K/O match record. 🫠
Clinical batting performance. Sanju 🙏
The decision making during fielding has been questionable. The need to give Arshdeep the 16th over when there were 2 new batsmen at the crease was beyond me. Chakravarthy would have eaten them raw. It gave them confidence to target Varun.
That should be it for Karun Nair in Indian colours. Only guy in the top 6 to have not scored a 50 in 6 innings on such flat pitches. That is surely it. Sai is waiting in the wings.
