The government is moving away from just providing "loans" and is now focusing on "equity" and "ecosystems." Self-Reliant India (SRI) Fund Top-up: An additional ₹4,000 crore was infused into this Fund-of-Funds. Unlike a bank loan, this provides equity capital to help MSMEs scale into large corporations. The "Corporate Mitra" Initiative: To solve the headache of regulatory paperwork, the government is creating a cadre of "Corporate Mitras" in Tier-II and Tier-III cities. Think of them as affordable, government-certified compliance consultants for small businesses.
Mandatory TReDS: All Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) must now use the TReDS platform (Trade Receivables Discounting System) for purchases. This is a massive win for your cash flow, as it allows you to get paid for your invoices almost immediately by "discounting" them through banks: Mr Kunal Giani, Co-Chair, FICCI Madhya Pradesh State Council & Managing Director- Sarva Foam Industries Ltd.
