I moved into a house with many people recently and we recently had an issue with the trash chore. My PM housemate put together a 2-page PRD for improving the system.
Its so good.
all this to say - eat your fiber! the recommended intake is 25 - 30g per day. some common sources are:
- oatmeal
- chia seeds
- fruits like blueberries
- vegetables
another reason fiber is important is because it can help lower cholesterol in the blood stream. the liver produces bile (which is partly made of of cholesterol) to break down fats. often, the bile is recycled back to the liver. if there is enough fiber in the diet, then the bile will attach to the fiber and be released from the body (via poop). this forces the liver to use up cholesterol in the body to produce more bile which reduces the amount of cholesterol in the blood stream
