Inside My Process: What I Scan Every Weekend Before Trading
This is the basic scan I run every weekend to hunt for momentum setups. It’s designed to find stocks that are liquid, active, and showing directional intent.
Filters I Use:
Trend Smoothening (via SMAs)
I use simple moving averages to align with trend structure.
Example: Price > 20SMA, 20SMA above 50SMA
Helps me filter names that may be moving and avoid sideways/dull names
Liquidity Filter
Market Cap > ₹500 Cr → Avoids illiquid microcaps
Turnover > ₹5 Cr/day (Turnover = Price × Volume)
Ensures there’s enough participation
Price Strength
Price > 50% above 52-week low
This is important. I want names that have already moved off their bottom and are in motion, not dead stocks.
These conditions doesn’t give readymade trades.
It just narrows the universe. The real edge comes from how you read the charts post-scan — structure, volume, tightness , Base Quality etc
Train your eyes, not just your filters
Every profitable trade has a storm in between.
If you don’t have a plan for every possible outcome, the market will write one for you — and it won’t be kind.

Air pollution has a direct impact on brain health. It increases the chances of cognitive decline. It kills over 2L people every year.
And yet there is hardly any attention paid to it.
Same with road accidents. Over 2L deaths in India.
The attention on religious and political violence is disproportionate because it is easy to create an enemy when other humans involved.
No one cares about road deaths or air pollution despite their crazy consequences because creating an engaging story is so much harder.
Any one can draw line after movement is over, and can say I hv traded this and that. If you believe them without verified pnl. You will blow up soon following tm
