Why are authorities repeatedly granting permission for large-scale film events in the heart of the city?

On what basis was permission granted for the Raja Saab pre-release event featuring Prabhas at Kaithalapur Grounds, Moosapet, located on Green Hills Road near Kukatpally—one of Hyderabad’s busiest and most congested urban corridors?

The outcome was predictable.
Heavy crowds.
Severely disrupted traffic.
Roads choked for hours in a densely populated residential and commercial area.

This is not a one-off. The same location earlier hosted Akhanda film of NBK and caste based “vanabhojanam” events, drawing thousands and causing similar traffic gridlock. The precedent already exists, and the consequences were known.

This raises serious questions about urban governance and public administration.

Why are such events not directed to stadiums, peripheral grounds, or designated event venues designed to handle large footfalls?

This is not a debate about cinema or fandom.
It is about planning, regulation, and the routine functioning of the city.

Urban spaces cannot be treated as ad-hoc venues simply because permissions are easy to grant.

The authorities need to explain:
•What criteria are being used to approve such events in core city areas
•Why prior traffic disruptions did not trigger a rethink
•Whether any meaningful assessment of road capacity and crowd impact was done

Public spaces in the city centre must serve public mobility first not promotional spectacles.
