At least for now, I believe that political science is an epistemological endeavor concerning the way we perceive politics or certain political phenomena. All studies, at their core, make an epistemic argument about the proper way to understand political concepts or events.
Math and science needs more visualization and less equations. This paper is so beautiful bc you don’t get wrapped up in syntactical garbage.
I feel like so many people like equations because they look and feel esoteric and make people feel Really Smart when they are in reality a really lossy means of idea communication.
It is so easy to apply derivative rules via notation and remember the simple tricks but actually understanding the nuance behind the chain rule for instance is so much deeper than a d/dx.
This is one reason it’s so much easier to learn things talking w Claude it’ll just tell you what the idea actually is. And the ideas are infinitely more interesting than the hieroglyphs we use to try to convey the meaning.
NEVER think about math in terms of notation. Think in terms of spaces and gradients and shapes and curves. It is so much more rewarding.

Dario is wrong.
He knows absolutely nothing about the effects of technological revolutions on the labor market.
Don't listen to him, Sam, Yoshua, Geoff, or me on this topic.
Listen to economists who have spent their career studying this, like @Ph_Aghion , @erikbryn , @DAcemogluMIT , @amcafee , @davidautor

I mean the oscar has been and will be always local in the sense that the award is chosen by its members who mostly live in Hollywood, not like cannes, berlin, venice, toronto, new york, or london film festival where the award is chosen by a committee of artists across the world.
So bugonia was good, and the acting was great but it’s really outshined by its original “save the green planet!” It’s a movie that smack you in the face with the problems of the Korean society then (and now) without any hesitation.
It’s a movie that can help you understand why many of us don’t want to have kids, and why we have the highest suicidal rates. It’s shows what it means and feels like to live in our society as a loser (i believe better than Parasite).
Lanthimos is a great director and i like his work but i think he’s better at psycho dramas that capture middle classes’ delicate insecurities rather than the anger and frustration of the lower classes and their consequences, which is what the original was about.
