Fair, but let me ask you something.

When did you last read a research paper before buying a ₹20,000 pair of running shoes?

Here is the part most people don't know. That shoe does have a paper. The Vaporfly 4% was tested at the University of Colorado'sand published in Sports Medicine 18 runners, measured oxygen uptake, 4% lower energetic cost of running. Real study, freely available (I just discovered it today myself).
Similar story for Adizero too.

Now go ask anyone wearing those at the next Delhi Half if they have read any paper on it.

Almost nobody has. Because the paper came out in November 2017. Kipchoge had already run 2:00:25 in Monza in May. By the time the science was published, the $250 shoe was sold out and reselling for $1,000. The paper didn't create the demand. It showed up afterwards to explain it.

That is the actual sequence for every product like this. Whoop got onto LeBron and Phelps through their trainers, not through a journal. They got Ronaldo to become their ambassador. Nobody in that bubble had read a validation study.

I am using Whoop from 2 years, and didnt care for validation study before purchasing.

We are social animals before we are rational ones. We don't validate. We imitate. We buy what the people we admire are already wearing, and then we build the reasoning backwards.

So Temple's real proof is not a research PDF. It is 50 people you follow wearing that thing on their forehead in a gym or party you recognise, and one of them saying it caught something they would have missed. That becomes the data.

I am sure research will come out to increase or decrease the trust on the product but it shall be expected from a 3rd party that is indepedent.

A Swiss hotel once displayed a list of special rules exclusively for Indian guests which I personally saw and was appalled.

Today, videos of garba in restaurants, loud conversations in airports, and turning aircraft cabins into picnic spots keep doing the rounds. Even in Davos, an Indian businessman blasted Punjabi music in a club so the whole town could hear it, calling it “soft power” but to everyone’s annoyance.

Japan earned global admiration through their courtesy and civic sense. If India wants to be a true global superpower, the world should remember Indians for its excellence, consideration and respect for others.

Our civic sense seriously needs to be upgraded.

Left my wallet in an Uber today in Bengaluru. The driver without my calling (I didn’t even realise I had misplaced it) after some time noticed it in the backseat, came back some distance, reached out to me at a very busy conference (excellent one by 3one4) after somehow tracking my number through my ID, and then gave it back after multiple calls (I was on another call and I generally don’t pick unsaved numbers). I thanked him of course via a token appreciation amount which he took very reluctantly. There is so much goodness in this world which we don’t recognize - thanks again to the young man. His name is Toguru. I hope @Uber_India can also somehow acknowledge this internally. We use X to complain - also wanted to use it to be grateful.
