I figured alot of remote workers don't know they pay "hidden taxs" on freelancing platforms when it's time to receive their payments so I crafted a carousel that explains what these taxes are and how the @RaenestApp app helps them. This is my entry for the hackaton @dev_careers
We did a thing in class. Generated a brief, used AI to visualize a fitting shoe style, and created these designs as a way of learning the anatomy of swiss and editorial design.
Shoe Name:
AURELIA Sculpt Heel
I’ve actually tested this myself.
There was a time I charged ₦50k–₦60k per flyer.
But let’s be honest, long term, that model doesn’t really work in Nigeria.
At some point, the client will realize:
“I can get this cheaper elsewhere.”
Or they’ll just pay a designer monthly on retainer instead.
That’s the reality.
Flyer design alone is not a strong standalone service here.
Even the designers charging that range are usually adding motion design or extra deliverables to justify it.
And even with that, the market is still not deep enough yet.
Ask yourself honestly:
How many ₦100k flyers can you realistically close in a month?
And how many of those clients will come back consistently?
Except you’re working with clubs or entertainment brands, demand is not stable.
So I had to rethink things.
I focused on:
• Adding more value (motion design, strategy)
• Targeting international clients
• And moving into brand design
Now I charge ₦1M+ per project and don’t need volume to survive.
If you’re a flyer designer:
Don’t just shout ₦100k pricing because Twitter said so.
Skill up, expand your offer, or reposition.
Because flyer design alone won’t carry you long term.
@sandixdesigns There was a change in management for the brand. The new person in charge of the brand wanted me to design flyers for them at a low price and mind you the first manager who was my client already paid me in advance and I delivered the remaining flyers. The new guy didn't use them.
@ErhokhonG If she can't afford it, then she should design it herself. Most of these peeps don't know the amount of time and energy that goes into research for a design. She think say nah copy and paste.
A flyer design I did for my younger brother who was running for a post in his department. I wanted something different but captivating so I went with a bold colour and a monochrome image.
Ps:( He won the election).
Hustle culture makes slow growth feel like failure. It isn’t.
Progress that feels quiet, steady, and even boring is often the kind that lasts.
Moving slowly does not mean you’re behind. It means you’re building properly.
