C Delores Tucker was right!!!!
We were young, and her delivery was WHACK!
Also, she did not have a "different" path for us... she just wanted us to STOP CURSING! Imagine a softer Auntie who took the time to teach us.
She was RIGHT though... Look how it turned out!
Hosted by proud alumnus and Mayor Kirk Rivers alongside ECSU National Alumni Association President Capt. Anthony Swain, ECSU came together in true Viking spirit for a special Community & Alumni Celebration honoring the installation of Chancellor S. Keith Hargrove. 💙
We cut the ribbon on the new @ECSU Aviation Student Training Facility with an open house and celebration honoring the Tuskegee Red Tails. I was very fortunate to know six of the original Tuskegee Airman, and fortunate today to recognize them for their service.
🚨 Community, I need your Support! For six years, the camera you see in the first photo was a part of me. It wasn't just an object; it was the specific tool I personally held, day after day, to tell the stories of our neighborhood. It was the lens that uplifted Black businesses, spotlighted the incredible souls in our community, powered documentaries, and so many of our TV shows. It was the gateway through which I showed the world the best of us.
Yesterday, that came to a stop. I quickly ran upstairs to my apartment, and in that short moment, my car was robbed. My camera, my lenses, and all my gear were taken.
They say it’s just metal, plastic, and glass. In a way, they’re right. Cameras can be replaced, but the six years of memories tied to that specific device cannot.
I need your help. The photos show the person responsible for this violation.
I have two favors to ask of my community today:
If you live in the Central District, please look at these photos. If you recognize this person, or if you see a Blackmagic 6K camera and a Canon and a Sigma lens in a black backpack for sale anywhere, please call me at 206 822 5300 or if you have this camera and want to return it, you can drop it off at any location on 23rd and Union - Earl's, Cafe Avole, Communion, Jerk Shack, ReSole, no questions asked.
I will not stop telling our stories. But to continue, I have to rebuild. I know my community has my back. If you have the means and wish to support my work, you can donate at the link below to help me get the new tools I need to start again.

Thank you for seeing me. Thank you for lifting me up during this setback. Let's keep the stories alive because #BlackMediaMatters

Rev #JesseJackson Sr in 1993. I was young and inspired! 😁🤩 I had worked as part of the #RainbowCoalition at @ECSU and was so excited to hear him say: "Keep Hope Alive" in person!! 👊🏽✊🏾
I saw him in 1995 later at Mt. Zion and had him sign the pic.

I’ll never understand how America went from Barack Obama to Donald Trump.
From dignity, empathy, and competence
to grievance, cruelty, and chaos.
It wasn’t an accident.
It was backlash.
Backlash to having a smart, principled, wildly popular Black president who proved this country could be better.
And some people couldn’t stand it.
Yesterday, the Executive Leadership Team and I served great food and heartfelt appreciation in celebration of our students, faculty and staff. The campus community came together in fellowship as we honored what makes ECSU a great place to live, work, and learn.
To meet the demands of rapid enrollment growth, ECSU has invested in a new set of wings—a 2018 Cessna 172 G1000. This addition will allow more flight hours for student pilots, supporting the increase in workforce demand.
