That was the first clue.

They’re moving the work to the Carolinas.

Sawmills keep shutting down too.

Malheur Lumber. Western Cascade. Prairie Wood Products. C&D Lumber. At least seven of them in 2024 alone, and more after that.

Jeld-Wen in Chiloquin took 128 jobs.

Roseburg Forest Products / Nordic Veneer about 100 jobs.

And the bigger picture?

Business closures beat new openings by 1,700 in 2024 and about 6,000 in the first nine months of 2025.

It just keeps happening.

The victim and her parents were from out of state, just visiting.

Meanwhile Gov. Kotek backed SB 820 and 821 to loosen sex offender registry rules and scrap deadlines for classifying thousands more on the list — while Portland streets stay this chaotic.

Priorities are completely backwards.

This absolutely is NOT the Oregon we want for our kids.

Nor the Oregon that was promised to us by Tina Kotek.

State officials estimate that one month of the gas tax brings in about $250 million. The revenue goes into the Motor Vehicle Fund for construction projects on roads. About 5% goes to cities and counties.
