As promised, we have completed the rehabilitation of the Joda Regional Water Treatment Plant. This brings the number of completed regional water schemes to two out of the 16 currently undergoing rehabilitation across Kano State.
For more than a decade, many communities have struggled with inadequate access to safe and reliable water. Under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Kano State Government is steadily restoring these long-neglected facilities and strengthening water security across the state.
Work is progressing on the remaining 14 regional water schemes. One scheme at a time, this administration is delivering on its promise to restore sustainable water supply to our communities.

WHY THE ADMINISTRATION OF GOV. ABBA K. YUSUF IS CONSTRUCTING THE 24KM ALBASU–PANDA–HAMDULLAHI–SAKWAYAN DUTSE ROAD TO JIGAWA STATE
There are four major access routes into Albasu Local Government Area, yet for many years, none was in good condition. This created serious challenges for transportation, limited commercial activities—particularly agriculture—and made it difficult for residents to access major economic and social centres across Kano and Jigawa States.
Following the completion of a five-kilometre road project in the area, the administration of His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has further expanded its infrastructure development efforts by initiating the construction of roads connecting Albasu with other strategic locations.
As part of this development plan, the project was divided into phases, with the construction of two major roads commencing about two years ago. Today, the projects are at their final stages, with high-quality asphalt being laid as the administration moves towards completing them to modern standards.
The completion of this important road is expected to improve transportation, boost trade and economic activities, support agricultural development, and improve the overall well-being of communities in the area.
This is more than just road construction—it is a pathway to development, easier movement, stronger communities, and greater economic opportunities.
Albasu is moving forward. Kano is moving forward.

From Tragedy to a New Beginning: How Governor Abba K. Yusuf Helped Rebuild Malam Haruna Bashir’s Life
Malam Haruna Bashir suffered an unimaginable tragedy when his wife and six children were brutally murdered, leaving him to face a pain that no husband or father should ever have to endure.
At a time when his world was shattered, His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, stood by him with compassion and practical support.
The Governor facilitated Malam Haruna’s journey to Umrah and Hajj, where he had the opportunity to pray for his late wife and six children, seek Allah’s mercy for them, and find strength and comfort in the Holy Land.
But the support did not end there.
Today, Malam Haruna Bashir has been given the opportunity to start a new chapter of his life. He has been married again, with the support of the Governor, and His Excellency has also gifted him a house at Amana City to provide him with a secure and dignified home.
For Malam Haruna, this is more than a house. It is a symbol of hope after tragedy, dignity after devastation, and a new beginning after unimaginable loss.
Governor Abba K. Yusuf’s intervention demonstrates that leadership is not only about building roads, schools and hospitals. It is also about standing with people when life breaks them, helping them heal, and giving them the opportunity to rebuild.
May Allah grant eternal Jannatul Firdaus to Malam Haruna’s late wife and six children, accept his prayers for them, bless his new marriage and reward Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf abundantly for standing by him during one of the darkest moments of his life.
