Everything you need to known about trading Discipline in 2 minutes.
What you know about trading discipline is either wrong or not clear.
Traders keep talking about 'Trading discipline' as if it's some kind of meditation exercise or something they need to go to church to learn.
Course sellers keep talking about this because it's all philosophy and they can keep lecturing about it nonstop without actually showing any trading method, winning trades or strategies.
So here is what trading discipline actually is.
1. It simply means the strategy that you've made is hard tested before trading.
2. Before you enter a trade, you actually make an absolute plan about entry, exit and you absolutely know where to exit. You should know the exit before the entry.
3. Now here is the interesting part. Once this place about trade is decided, where to enter, why you'd enter and how the trading plan and price action would work out BUT if the price starts pumping, the media starts talking about it, and the chart goes vertical every second, do you follow your plan? Do you want for the retest of the breakout? Or do you get excited an then just buy the vertical pump.
99% of you will get exited and buy the vertical pump and not wait for the retest or your plan. And this is what lack of discipline is.
It's not some meditation or breathing exercise or lecture from Tony Robbins.

had a major loss today
got rugged on a token i bought
my mistake: 'overtrading and bleeding capital chasing new pairs and liquidity rotation'
i should have listened to my own advice lol
gutted by this one in particular since i sized into it way more than i normally would for that kind of play
but it looked very interesting and a lot of smart trenchers felt really good about it
so why am i writing this?
obviously not to cry publicly about losing ~$100k on a new token
but to highlight a key observation after assessing my recent trades
i've had a good number of losses recently, and there's one thing they all have in common:
the majority were taken on borrowed conviction
most of my wins this cycle have come from building my OWN conviction on something and holding/doubling down even when everyone else seems not to get it
when i get complacent after having a lot of success, i often find myself taking unnecessary trades just to feel like i'm trading
and in hindsight, that is ALWAYS a big mistake
sometimes, the best trade is no trade
going forward, i want to focus on things i have/can build MY OWN conviction on
it's how i've been winning this cycle
that might mean missing some very big trades that look obvious in hindsight
and that's perfectly okay
Being a trader is weird.
People you have known your entire life think you are just gambling.
Then a random person you met on discord wants to see you win more than anyone in your real life.
