IMO, the best way to view the fall colors in Northern WI is from inside a kayak. On Sat, I took my final kayak trip of the year. What was surprising is that I was the only boat out there. I'm not sure if that makes me a genius or an idiot.

While up at my dad's lake house this weekend, I tried out the night time-lapse feature on my GoPro for the first time. The light pollution is far less than at home. I was lucky enough to capture Orion drifting across the night sky. Not bad for a first attempt.

This past weekend, Kristi and I transitioned from our summer pastime of kayaking to getting back out on the Ice Age Trail for the rest of the year. Because the weather on Saturday was so nice, we traveled up to Mauthe Lake to kick off hiking season and get in one last paddle.

I’m an older man in the US and no longer have much fashion sense. Been seeing photos of some of the FE drivers wearing crocheted bucket hats this summer. Is that a hot fashion trend these days? Not something that would have been popular when I was younger. Curious.
