Recording & performing 32 Beethoven Piano Sonatas was one of the greatest things in my life. Bach: sure. I grew up with him, had him in my blood via my father. But Beethoven? I worked at him like mad. But he was worth it and opened me up no end. Happy Birthday, Ludwig! Smile!!

When I repeat something a million times to learn it & the neighbours are in I switch to my electronic Kawai. The vibraphone setting is fun. No dynamics but it makes you emphasise articulation which is good. So: GUESS THE COMPOSER?
