@MongoosePub Not a creator, but I would love to see more support for content that provides good “how to play” examples. Glass cannon and Seth S. have done a good job but would like to see more that reflects the diversity of the system.
@mertzigzag Hard to believe the mental gymnastics someone would have to go through to believe that, in of all places, Madison, WI would have to bring in paid actors to a Democratic Party event.
@mertzigzag This has got to be one of the silliest Seattle debates I’ve come across. Many of the businesses against this 40 redesign aren’t even on the route.
@johnkonrad If you can’t make this into a Top 10 list have you actually been a mariner? Prob. was being on the edge of a hurricane w/ an engine down and rudder controls that had a short in the system just based on frustration. Had to keep heading w/thrusters. 3 other hull breaches.😬
@DavidMT62 @johnkonrad While I agree the pay should be more the research I’ve done (interviews with younger mariners) and my own experience (15+ yrs on workboats) says it’s not just the paycheck. Pay alone isn't going to solve the issue.
@johnkonrad You know I’m a hawsepiper who went back to grad school and did a masters thesis that touches on this issue. Support for the folks you’re talking about is one of the only ways to really “fix” this industry. And people wonder why there’s recruitment and retention issues🤷♂️
@johnkonrad Spent a night drinking on that boat with some other mariners. The caretaker told us it was haunted and couldn’t get us to leave. Our old cook was playing the piano-stopped suddenly-said he saw a ghost and jumped back on the dock. Wouldn’t stop yelling at us until we all left.
