this detrimental event could have changed me into someone as horrid and harsh as them, and yet i opted to be wiser. i used to be naive, but now i have changed. not everyone, whether in authority or not, deserves my respect and dignity.

i trusted authority, stood by them, decided to ignore the red flags, chose to give them the benefit of the doubt, and no matter how authentic, sympathetic, and eager to go the extra mile for them. i was betrayed, they let me down.
