@himbodhisattva If I understand correctly, in stage 2 there is a self with interests but it cannot yet be examined. By disassociating I mean the self feels nebulous and interests don't show up clearly either
1. Conform to society reluctantly, sensing that something feels off
2. Some confirmation of things being off
3. Try to abandon society provided solutions and solve everything from first principles
4. Too intractable->Adopt most solutions but with doubt
I feel like my reluctance for structure was because it felt like imposing it both on the stage and the performance when there are many more impro kinda performance. Unbundling the two, I can appreciate how structure can look like building systems where interestingness can emerge
I feel like people end up aiming for stability and predictability at the wrong abstraction level
The dance floor is supposed to be predictable and not the dance
Rejection is supposed to be used for evaluation and not training. To do so otherwise is to overfit to the point of subsequent rejection having increasing loss
I feel like there is a particular kind of sacredness that I want to get rid of because it triggers preservation instincts to the point of not appreciating that its dynamic nature is what makes something special, and this dynamic nature means it's subject to creative destruction
Letting go/forgiveness are symmetry producing operations at the viewer end of things rather than what is viewed. It is seeing that there is no preffered viewpoint without suggesting there is no view or that the view is symmetric or beautiful
Having no preferred viewpoint can be applied to death as well. I feel like this might be what spiritual traditions mean when the talk about facing and transcending death. It's not really about glorifying death and saying it gives meaning to life
